Anyone to Spain? What about it? I need info about touring Spain. Any help?
Re: Anyone to Spain
If you get PBS, catch their show. They have renamed it though and best of all…JUSTINE SHAPIRO is back!!!
Re: Anyone to Spain
I've been to Barcelona, Spain over the summer. It's an amazing city. The people are friendly and the weather was great.
Barcelona is like a party city. Nothing is open early morning like it is here in the USA. Everyone has a late start there and they go to bed extremely late even on weekdays. The people there are so much more laid back than they are here.
Word of advice: be sure to brush up on your Spanish because very few people can speak english well. you will have to refer to you english-spanish dictionary quite often.
Also plan in advance where you want to eat because almost every restaurant there adds pork to their meals. Oh and their seafood always has eyes on em. eeeek! So stick to the non-spanish restaurants.
Re: Anyone to Spain
Well, I would want to visit Toledo, Cordova, Granada, Ceuta, Almaira where I can see some Muslims architect. One city I'd wanna visit for sure, is Granada where the Muslims dynasty fell on April 1st, 1492 in the hands of queen Isabella and King Ferdenand....
This city used to be the capital of the Muslim dynasty at that time.
I plan to take the same route that was taken up by Tariq Bin Ziyad, Moosa bin Nusair and Yousuf bin Tashfeen i.e. the sea route from Ceuta (Morocco) to Gibraltar (Spain)
I don't know Spanish, and I guess I need to know this a little bit.
And it seems there is a problem of food too :(

I wanna go to Spain ![]()
Re: Anyone to Spain
ah so you are planning a trip to southern spain. I wanted to go to southern spain as well but my trip was very short. I want to go back inshallah soon. Perhaps this summer. Southern Spain is beautiful as well. My cousin went there and she fell in love with the architecture.
Re: Anyone to Spain
^ I don't know, I just want to see all the Muslim architect there.
But looks like I have to solve the problem of food and language.
Okay, here is a question.
Can I get halaal meat there that easily as I can get it here in USA? O well, vegetables are okay, they can be cooked.
Re: Anyone to Spain
no unfortunately halal meat is not as readily available as it is here in the USA. Well at least in Barcelona it isnt. Perhaps there in southern spain you may find a few here and there since it is closer to morocco. I guess you will have to stick to their seafoods (with the eyes and antennas…yucky)
Re: Anyone to Spain
^ don't they have something good to eat :( except those eyes and antenas
Re: Anyone to Spain
well in barcelona…i ate fast food almost everyday just so i could avoid another restaurant that served pork or fish with these huge eyes starring at me. ![]()
but after some time i started going to chinese restaurants and indian restaurants. they do have indian food there but i didnt see any paki places.
Re: Anyone to Spain
Why not tapas?
Re: Anyone to Spain
too afraid they would add pork to it. I’m telling you…they add pork to EVERYTHING…they would add pork to a filet o fish from Mcdonalds if they could.
Re: Anyone to Spain
^ Okay, I think I'd have to arrange something for myself.
This porky thingy is not acceptable at all.
So what can be the possibilities of cooking there. At least the vegetables can be cooked, daal rice etc and eggs etc.....
Re: Anyone to Spain
are you planning on living there or just visiting? im assuming that if your visiting than you will be staying in a place with a kitchen. If so, than you’ve got it made! cook for yourself. I’m sure they have halal meat markets somewhere around there. I’m just not sure if they are going to be nearby.
