I was wondering if anyone here has had a personal jewelery shopping experience at Tanishq ( website is below) or ever heard of someone dealing with them. Their pieces are absolutely stunning. For those who may not know about it, Tanishq designed jewelery for Jodha-Akbar movie.
Another question, if I provide a Pakistani jeweler with such designs, would he be able to come close to the real finesse and beauty without quoting me some ridiculously high price?
wishkumar, I have spoken with them on 2 different occasions....the guys at the New Delhi store were very nice.....i was going to buy the kundan/tourmaline choker(in their movie jewels section)..but opted not to at the last minute...they quoted me INR187000 for the choker alone..and that was a little more than a month ago..
the pearl and kundan choker with jhumkey (not in the film jewels section) was INR188000.
we had a family friend at the New Delhi store check it out for us....the first thing she said was...that those two look artificial...the non kundan jewelery looked amazing....and real.....but was pricier..finally after tons of research... i got my ordered placed at Govindjis... :)
you can certainly get the pattern made...if you know the jewelers.....I am in the process of doing that right now.
Thanks, Chanda. Which jeweler you are getting it made from? And how much are you being charged if you don't mind me asking? Also, does Govindji jeweler have any website? Where are they located?
From Govindjis...and its something completely different though... :)
the price is not final yet...we just put the deposit....and they have only told us the approximate gold in grams to be used..we will find out the final price when it comes...Inshallah..
Thank you so much...i sure will...i just hope they dont go over the estimate.....
although the price of the set and the amount of gold govindji are using is within reason...
With Tanishq..i was kinda pissed..because the necklace didnt have a lot of gold....yet the price was sky high....did you check?? its close to 74g or something....
wishkamar, I have several pieces from Tanishq for myself and my daughters. The one good thing with Tanishq is that their gold really is pure and unadulterated as it is "certified" unlike many other jewelry stores in India. They do have lovely designs but yes, they are expensive. I've only shopped at their stores not online.
i bought some bangles ,chains and ear-rings.Designs are awesome but they are much expensive ,they said their gold is 99 percent pure while others gold is 75-80 percent pure.
Thanks to Aisha, Niksik and Aqal-Less for your input.
Are their pieces worth the price or are they expensive just because of the brand name?
Also, if you're to buy bridal sets from them and you don't want to spend over Rs.200,000, would it get you a nice enough jewelery set?
Aisha, is there Tanishq in Dubai? Whereabouts please?
aqal-less is right. i bought frm tanishq myself for my wedding n valima. they r certified.
sales people r v.nice n they go great work. they will exceed your expectations. go for it
