Anyone seen Ashfaq Ahmad's Aik Muhabbat Sau Afsanay?

brilliant series. One hour long plays based on the work of Ashfaq Ahmad; great acting, great scripts and great cinematography and editing

Oh yeh as u probably guessed all the plays have a common theme of love in all its wonderful connotations running through them. Simply brilliant

Anyone else seen it? My all time fave episode was one called “Qurrat al Ayn” about a young adult who has one dream --to become a pilot in the PAF; he lives eats and sleeps PAF! It is set in Karachi. This guy lives alone with his dad (his mom is dead.).Anyway there is this girl whom he loves and who loves him. Everything is fine until he goes for the entrance exam to the PAF cadet college…if I tell you the rest it will spoil it. Suffice it to say i have rarely been moved by a drama as much as by this one. The soundtrack is by Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan…

Another great episode is called Ma’adan e Muhabbat. It stars Sajjad something (who came in Taan Sen).

There is another great one as well with the girl who played Marvi (Ghazala Siddiqui) and the guy who played Umar Soomro in Marvi too. It follows their love affair thru their lives. Brilliant.

And another brilliant one with Shakil playing a maulvi in an unforgettable central role…

oh just get the 5 tapes out and watch them all!!

U will see a star near it

Realy good dramas...

Labik.Labik ...change my whole image of Mullvis..Mah-e-Kanan,Quratul-Ain,Sanam Gazida.

All briliant dramas...

I think it`s the best work of Ishfaq ahmad on Screen...untill now...

have you seen the old series...if you can get your hand on them, it`s worth watching..

Asif yar, of all the other idiotic stuff that you post, finally you have said something that I feel like kissing you on the mouth (You should watch Godfather II to know what I mean, Italians do that).

Ashfaq Ahmed is one my all time favorite play writers. I have watched many plays of the series but unfortunately can't remember any of them.

Another one of the good series by Asfaq Ahmed was Totta Kahani.

What idiotic stuff?

Haven't seen the plays, but I've read the book. It's one of the only few urdu books I own. He's a superb writer.

I'll hafta make some time and watch them.

As a matter of fact, I went to the closeby Manssor bookshop over the weekend with a friend and saw his compilations of Ek Mohabbat So Afsaanay and Totta Kahani. I believe Mansoor bookshop has an online site where you can order books so don't be a kanjoos and buy your own crap instead of asking others to spend money on you - you ain't no hot chick and you sure don't sound like one either.
