I like watching PTV Dramas a lot; most of the m are very good! The above mentioned three are excellent.
Yeh Zindagi–Mahnoor Baloch in a interesting social drama about the problems and stigma attached to infertility and impotence in our society. Highly recommended (and if you dont like the drama then, guys, Mahnoor ko hi dekh lo!!)
Babar–an excellent historical drama about the conqueror of India and the founder of the Mughal Dynasty. A must for history fans!
Dhoop mein Sawan–I watched this only after a recommendation and it is superb. Definitely the best produced and edited PTV drama I’ve seen. It’s about one-sided ishq and the tragic consequences which result…
Haan there’s many excellent others too! Dastak aur Darwaza is another intelligently made drama with Usman Peerzada…
yes PTV produces the coolest dramas on earth! :)
well,has anyone watched ALPHA,BRAVO,CHARLIE.
I saw the last ten episodes and i must say it was the best directed and edited programme from PTV. :)
are you guys talking about those really really really long Pakistani dramas. this is just my opinion but i cant stand um they r soooo boring and so looooong, i really think they r the epitome of bordem.
well these are the longer versions u see!
like 13 to 14 episodes!
but believe u me if u have a slightest interest in army warfare and stuff.....?
then its the one which should not be missed!
took 2 years for direction and the story revolves around just a few lead players ...something like ur soaps......but truly amazing direction by shoaib mansoor :)
I love dramas, regardless of where they are from (that is either from Karachi or Lahore). The dramas you mentioned were really good but think about this. Does the drama Yeh Zindagi compares up to Ankahi? I am not saying that its bad or anything because I watched it and I loved it. But still, its something to think about !!! Otherwise my fave dramas are Bandhan, Pal Do Pal and of course the oldies Tanhaian and Ankahi.
P.S By the way, how do you get those smilie faces ???
yes PTV makes excellent dramas…no doubt about that.
as for comparing 'Yeh Zindagi’with Tanhiyan,as it were, will not be justifiable.
u know why?Yeh zindagi had a different cast ,theme, and so many other things…
In all it was a different drama!
Tanhiyan and ankahi like programmes are not made everyday. story, characters, direction, the overall approach was too good!(Salim nasir ,wow what an actor!)
As for Pal do Pal Nadia khan overacted a lot
while the other girl was pretty good in every sense
though Ali azmat was non sense
You know when I said compare the 2 dramas, I meant the overall image not what you mentioned. Same goes for Pal Do Pal, I like the overall image and Ali Azmat was okay. I thought his acting was hilarious.
now I know what u really meant!
Ofcourse in retrospect, Tanhiyan or ankahi have a lot better image than the other ones.
and I'm talking about the Overall Image.
as for my favourite drama:it has to be WARIS
although it was telecasted in the year I was born(79), but I have been able to see it many a times on video and ofcourse PTV 2!
it is simply amazing!
Waris is simply my all time favourite!
no wonder your parents compare it with every other drama 'cuz it was so very good.
my parents tell me that on its last episode all streets in lahore went deserted and a poor guy whose baraat was to come arrived after that drama ended.round about 11 o'clock in the night.(well i know its still not that late for baraats in pak to come anyway) :)
The ending was tragic but ending hee to kamal kee thee :)that story demanded such an ending!
I hadn't been following on with your conversations back then Maharaja and Rida( I dunno whether you're still here, but someone else may also jump in).
You're right about Waris, Maharaja. I also got a chance to see it during a repeat session on PTV. It is a real thing man. Well my all-time favourites are as follows :
Oldies : (mind you, these are oldies for me)
Tanhaiyaan
Dhoop Kinarey
Ankahi
Waris
Samunder (I've seen this one like 4 times).
Other ones I've seen and remember :
Sunehrey Din (maybe a guys thing and if you know what army is like!!)
and the latest I enjoyed was :
Dhoop mei(n) saawan ( I really recommend it, a very open one from PTV. Good storyline, true to life. Youngsters choice, and only two VHS tapes !!).
BTW who's your best drama actor/actress:
For me :
Numaan Ijaaz
Abid Ali (all time favourite)
Also has anyone seen : Ghulam gardish. Heard a lot about it and it has a lot of good actors and actresses.
