I love them for the obvious reasons that I can pull up a document from office from my drive edit it and submit it again. I like this functionality in android but for some reason google docs dont have the same formatting as word which mess up my reports.
I also like it for the fact that I can use it for everything in my class that I would use a computer for and dont have to bring my 17" laptop into the class anymore…
I would like to get iPads but they are too expensive. I got my windows 8" acer tablet for $144 vs $600-$700 for iPad.
I don't have one but recently I played with Surface tablet at Best Buy and was impressed. Still I have issue with typing using the on-screen keyboard. Its good for content consumption but not for content creation, at least for me.
I really like the surface 2, I bought it a few months back and the keyboard that can be also used as a protective cover is a great feature. I like that it has MS office installed.
I don't like the RT kind, but this thing can run hot if you plug it in. I had to buy a power cover to give more battery life, but for serious work with big hands like mine, I just can't see myself typing on this thing.
*CONS: * Trackpad is not as good (coming from Mac but even by wintel standards..) and i hate how the kickstand doesn't have multiple options. They addressed that in Surface Pro 2, but the problem shouldn't be there to being with !!
Microsoft: Hit and misses with software (Windows 10 looks promising) but they keep fumbling with basic aspects of user experience. Do microsoft engineers just not have any common sense? Is being a nerd actually bad for you after all?
Oh, can you also give me more ports than a single USB port? microsoft !!! :o
I wouldn't mind using a pro-keyboard but getting hot while plugged in is a basic flaw.
Yes didn't hear good reviews about Window 8, no wonder I read they would be giving free upgrade to Window 10 to win back people (hence this way forcing people to use the new softwares is another issue :/ ) And yes having a multiple options kickstand is a no-brainer.
They or others for that matter (insert Google) don't realise that thrusting new features into customers' face without the option to upgrade or even go back doesn't go well.
