I moved into my first house ever and have been learning a lot about my plants/trees/shrubs. I have 4 bradford peers trees and 2 Oak Trees. For shrubs, I have Indian Hawthorne, Youpan Holly burford holly and Texas Sage in flower beds. For plants I have Heavnly Bamboo and miniature roses in my flower beds. I plan to plant prennial and annual flowers from seeds late this winter so they can be ready to be transplanted outside comes spring. I am very excited. Any guppy/guppen into gardening at all?
I also intend to create a veggie/fruit bed in my backyard where I want to plant some hard to find seeds especcially from pakistan/india. Some of the ones I have been thinking about are jaaman and phalsa. Any other ideas?
I love gardening too. I have a small backyard, so I am limited with my options. I have allocated a small (5 ft by 10 ft) area for farming veggies. At present I have green chilli peppers, cilantro and mint. I used to have tomatoes and cantaloups but they never turned out right.
In trees, I have a pear and lokaat. Both are yet to bear fruit.
I have all sorts of flower beds...roses, chambeli and your regular perennials.
its called Jasmine...you can get jasmine plants in the uk...tehre are the houseplant type that generally die outside and there is a hardy type...i forget its name.
an alternative in my opinion is honeysuckle...you can get a pink version or yellow flower one
Daisy, you won’t know a good thing even if it bit you on the ass.
Jasmine cannot survive in cold. I live in zone 5 and I have to bring my Jasmine indoors when it gets below 50. I have had mine for over 2 years now and it is flourishing!
The fragrance is heavenly! They tend to bloom every 2 or 3 weeks. Lots of sunshine and a little miracle gro does wonders..
I have two varieties of chilies, bell peppers, tomatoes and eggplant... The harvest was great... have more tomatoes and chilies than I know what to do with.
don’t they have to have a dormant period - if these are prennials they have to have it is what I have heard. U can probably prolong its survival for the year by bringing it indoor though
I have hired a guy for lawn mowing and I am also paying “True Green” furtilizer/weed & feed lawn treatments 6 times a year. But this, I have to do it since I have always wanted to do it.
