these are a big deal in kerala, and the state runs its own schemes, and anyone that runs such a fund has to register and follow certain legal guidelines.

And I agree, I would never start one with people I didn’t personally know and trust
decades ago, mamis used to participate in chittu. So Hyderabadi chitti was madrasi chittu I guess
