Anyone here have a PS3?

Re: Anyone here have a PS3?

Does XBOX 360 support a FULL HD? A resolution of 1080i(p)? I heard It only supports 720i(p). Whereas PS3 does.

Re: Anyone here have a PS3?

I'm not sure. I don't have an HDTV and don't plan to get one just for gaming either.

Re: Anyone here have a PS3?

You can notice a clear difference in games that are exclusively designed for the PS3, if you look at games that come out for both systems, then those games are actually standardized to work on both evenly.

Re: Anyone here have a PS3?

Dude, comeon!!!!

you need an HDTV to enjoy ps3 and xboxx!!

Re: Anyone here have a PS3?

I know, they say you need an HDTV to really be able to see a difference in the graphics. Right now I have my 360 hooked up to a VGA monitor and that's working just fine for me.

So, what do you play on the PS3? Games wise (and games are my main factor in choosing a game console) XBox 360 just has more that I'm interested in, both now and what I've seen in the future.

Re: Anyone here have a PS3?

Warhawk, Elder Scrolls IV, Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty, NBA homecourt, Rainbow Six:Vegas, Motor Storm, Blaxing Angels, Full Auto Z.

Re: Anyone here have a PS3?

Thanks Crescent, but whats with my question regarding NTSC and PAL?
Any info on that?

Re: Anyone here have a PS3?

i got mine tody as an xmas gift! its the 80gig one with motorstorm but I will get some more games over the weekend! crescent, thanks for ur help on PMs buddy! can we play motorstorm with each other over the weekend?

Re: Anyone here have a PS3?

xbox 360 supports Full HD...

I'd go for a PS3 anyway...I have the xbox 360, but since I saw the PS3 @ a friends house I fell in love with that machine...I'm regretíng that I bought the xbox 360...and if you wanna play Online with XBL you have to pay 5-7 $ monthly...PSN is for free...

Re: Anyone here have a PS3?

On my side, I'm happy with the 360. There's nothing on the PS3 that would warrant my purchasing it at this time. I'm more into some of the XBox 360's exclusives, but that just me.

Re: Anyone here have a PS3?

Ok guys,
I have made up my mind.
I will buy PS3 for sure. No intensions to open a new thread.
Here are some relevant questions to ask:

*Any specific thing I have to watch for before buying?
*

*How many GBs do I need (min.)? *

Can I copy game content to my hard drive? Matlab Back Up of games possible?
**
**Downwards compatible to PS2 game?

The real difference between PAL and NTSC Console?

Prices in US, EU, GB, Pakistan. Do post them here please. I want to make sure I get the best price :) (from on of these countries)?

Is online gaming system of PS3 free of charge or do I have to pay monthly? If so, how much?

Is Online gaming with WIFI possible? What are your experiences with online gaming?

That's it so far...maybe more to follow.

Re: Anyone here have a PS3?

hmm, not really.

*How many GBs do I need (min.)? *

i'd say 80 gigs, reasons listed below:
1. Games require min 1 gig to max 6 gigs to SAVE
2. You can download games from online (approx 2 gigs)

So if you want lots of saves, and lots of downloaded games, then get 80 gig.

But remember, HDD does NOT matter, my friend has a 160gig HDD in his PS3.
Its a laptop battery so you can always replace it.

But do not get a 40 gig, 60 gigs are obsolete, so you're pretty much left with an 80.

Can I copy game content to my hard drive? Matlab Back Up of games possible?

Depends on the game, BLU ray games you cannot, you can download them too.

Downwards compatible to PS2 game?
Yep any system greater than 40 gigs will have ps2 compatibility.

The real difference between PAL and NTSC Console?
not much at all, different regional settings thats it.

Prices in US, EU, GB, Pakistan. Do post them here please. I want to make sure I get the best price :) (from on of these countries)?

I heard its 30000 in pak, in canada here its around 499 for 80gigs, and 450 for an open box from best buy.

Is online gaming system of PS3 free of charge or do I have to pay monthly? If so, how much?

FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE, and SECURE, and AWESOME!

Is Online gaming with WIFI possible? What are your experiences with online gaming?

Perfect, flawless, i run it from my router, wifi, and it runs smoothly!
no lag if you have good router and connection.

PS3 uses linux system, thus you CAN install linux on it too! and its more secure, rarely any freezes.

Unlike xbox running on the MS engine, bugs bugs bugs bugs!

Re: Anyone here have a PS3?

Thanks a bunch Crescent, that was very convincing.
One thing I didnt get. You cannot back up Blue ray games (although I thought every PS3 game is on Blue Ray), but can download them? What you mean by download from online shops?!?
I#m not a fan of Linux much, after having bad experiences and I do prefer MS although Its not so bug free like Linux might be (although Suse 9.1 is also not so bug free). Anyway I think ps3 is the right choice to make.
How much is a game worth in Canada, US?
Do you have Singstar too? Is there some huge difference between Ps2 version and Ps3?

Re: Anyone here have a PS3?

I have an xbox360 and ps3. Reason why I bought ps3 was mainly for tekken6, and it is still not out. PS3 uses bluray discs and some of the games including graphics are over 15gb each), so there are two things, if ps3 games have to be ripped and be released in the scene then they are going to fill hell much , unless the rippers try to find a way to encode the video parts to h.264, and who would like to buy recordable "bluray" discs at this moment, and download the game + have a bluray burner , o maybe rent it from a blockbuster shop / friends and copy it. It is way too much hassle AT THIS MOMENT.

The good with xbox360 is that you can download every game in dvd5 image format, and burn it and play it on your modded 360 (however you cannot go XBOX LIVE with a copied game), other that that it works like a charm.

So I would say buy both, order 100 dvd5's from some cheap internet site. Download any new good game for xbox360 that you like, burn it play it. If you like it and you think graphics are better for that particular game then go for ps3 and buy the original, or if you want to play that game online. Some games are no fun if not played online, like call of duty, but its always a great help to play the game on 360 and test it and everything.

So depends on your choice, and your budget, and how you want to use your ps3, and how much of a gamer you are.

Any release dates for tekken6?

And my ps3 ID is lahoria

Re: Anyone here have a PS3?

Thanks a bunch Asn!
But since when you female :D
You didn't tell me.

Well the budget maybe not the problem, but I hardly get time to play. It would be a waste buying both. And one of my friend said. Since you have little time to play then how many games max can you play at a time?
I guess maybe 1? :)
Therefore, I have decided to go for the PS3. I really need a console with WIFI + online gaming free.
These are major things, which influenced my decisions.
