I have a job offer in Wichita, KS which I am very serious about. I will be moving from Chicago and have been unemployed for 5 months. Moving out of Chicago was on my mind before being laid-off so moving isn’t a big deal.
I was wondering if anyone here can provide some insight about the Wichita, Kansas area? As in how it is for Pakistanis and Muslims. I visited a mosque last week I was there and they assured that Muslims are not put in trouble and that they are very happy themselves, but I just want some sort of feedback here. If you can share general opinion about the area, that would be helpful as well!
How do you guys get your halal meat? Where do you go for Halal restaurants - Dallas/ Kansas City, MO?
Hope to get some replies as I am looking to make a decision very soon on this offer.
Re: Anyone here from Wichita, KS or can give some insight?
Kansas City was an option for me so I explored it a bit. It's not that bad. Like the Midwest generally, people are really nice. I met an irani girl who lives there and she will hear insensitive remarks but that sort of thing I hear even in a diverse area such as Miami.
It's not Chicago for sure. But it's worth the move for a job. Just stay professional.
