Late periods but negative home pregnancy tests : Anyone ever had one?

sgc, i would love to get checked out but my doc doesnt have an opening until 2 weeks later. That would be one long, maddening wait!!! Its like i want to know NOW if i am preg or not. The hospital is telling me to wait another month and if i still miss a period, then come in. WTH?
Arghhh. I want a blood test done :(

Yes - have experience this.
It depends when you have done a PG test. If you were only a few days late, then it could have been too early to have picked up anything. Leave it one week (CD35ish) then do another test. If it's still -ve then I would go an dsee a doctor.

Could just be a temporary hormone imbalance. Or you havent produced enough pregnancy hormone yet for it to be detected by a home-test - some are more sensitive than others, the most sensitive is I think the "First response" kit. It also happens sometimes that an egg was fertilized but either doesnt "plant" itself or was a "bad egg". That can delay your cycle a bit. Theres also a VERY small chance that its an ectopic pregnancy. Dont get too worried over it, these things tend to make themselves known, know what I mean? Do you have any walk-in clinics near you? They'd do a test for you....

Go to any clinic and get the blood test done. Home tests aren't very accurate. BTW, if you're not preg make sure you get Pap smear test done on yourself by a gynocologist...it's supposed to be done once your physical relationship begins.

it also happens in a false negative pregnancy test..means you are pregnant but the hormones are just not enough to show positivity on the strip..there is no false positive preg tests( means not really preg but strips shows the marks) but there are chances of false negative ones
