Anyone for Iraqi instrumental music?

 come on, it’s not as bad as it might sound …

This instrumental piece is called “Ani” which in Iraqi Arabic means “me”. The song is part of an album called “Music as Revolution” sponsored by an American group of civilians; when they were in the country in summer of 2000, they were always surrounded by Iraqi children who wanted their pictures taken, saying “Ani, ani”. Hence the song’s title. VERY VERY simple, but beautiful, instrumental musical piece.

this is one of those desert tunes, simple played with a duff, those arabic guitars and a flute. I have a few of those mp3 tunes. Soothing to listen to when you wanna just unwind.

sighz.....
its marvelous.........
love it Nadia jee.......
remind me of Arab.... :)

coconut,
I would love to have it, if you would like to send me.. :)

i am so relieved no one made fun of it. Thank you, CocoNut and Hanie, yeah it's utterly relaxing. So simple, so meaningful. Puts you in another frame of mind where everything is so peaceful.

CocoNut, errrm if you don't mind, if you have the time, i'd love to hear some of those MP3s as well (if you don't mind).

:mudhosh:

Not bad at all…it’s kinda erm…different, but soothing nonetheless.

Is ko sun kar neend nahin aati kia?

Just think of this as the cure for insomniacs, Khanzada..... :D Waisay it doesn't put me to sleep but baat tau hai that it relaxes me a great deal. It feels like i can drift away with my thoughts. Eik sakoon jaisa nahin milla?

^–chalo jee…chutti hui.

Bhai jaan…jhanjhor jhanjhor kar utane wala icon yeh sirf aik gana hai..aap ne to is ko panacea ki tarha pesh kar dia hai! jis ko jo bhi ghum, khushi, tension, ghabrahat, pareshani hui…fut se us ko “Ani” pesh kar di aur tension uranchoo ho gai! :rotato:

Insomnia…yeh kia hota hai?

nice … :k:

Good…:)…thanks…:k:

thanks Nadia for sharing it..and also many thanks for sharing the background info..while hearing it..it felt like i was sitting in a dessert area or some village area..

Hmmmm...Mesmerizing...

:mudhosh:

serene simple and sorta trancing.

fills my mind with images of bedouin people, deserts, snakes and clay houses. Or a king being entertained in his court by cute belly dancers. sadly most of these images are western media stereotypes.

either ways, top pick nadia!

speaking of arab music, heres a little arabic.western fusion. not as trancing as Ani but hey

The one you posted is so interesting, never heard such a fusion before. i love Arab mixes like these - something about them you can just listen to, while you’re reading, writing, daydreaming. Many many thanks again.

That's really awesome Nadia. I absolutely love hearing music from various parts of the world. It really opens your imagination.
