I think my dad was recalling how in his uni days they used to row up and down the naali and one day this bunch of snooty girls from his college demanded a ride, and the boat capsized coz there were too many of em and the snooty girls fell in. The girls dad was some hotshot, and my dad got into trouble. lol stupid girls.

yukh ..... i was riding the horse and i tried to jump over the naala line ...

the stupid horse didn't jump and put emergency brake and i fell .

What Sara was trying to say is ‘ching-chee’. Being poor and ABCD is a lethal combination.

Anyway, it is a mode of transport in urban pakistan, highly efficient innovation.

Its called “Chand-Gari” (Moon-car, like you need translation :rolleyes: )

The owner of this vehicle was delighted when i opened my flashy Minolta to take a snap. He proudly uncovered it for me, I took the picture just for one reason !

If you look closely, there is a wiper on the windscrean, which is operated manually, from inside of the screan :)

I've never fell in naali, but I attended one wedding in Pakistan. We were from the girls side, on the mehndi night, when the boy's family arrived. We went outside to greet them. The barat was preparing to come to the tent, I saw an opened gutter right in the middle of the street. I was telling someone, that it could be dangerous. It wasnt much deep. But it was full of .... You know... filthy stuff coming from the bathrooms of various houses. I told one of my cousins to put a lid or some cover on it, but he was too busy to notice that. Sighs....
And exactly what I expected happened. WHen the baratis were coming, ofcourse they were too excited to notice that gutter. One lady's foot went into it, till her knees.
You can imagine the rest. :)

tell ya wot, if you fall in a gandi naaali, u'd smell for weeks. but not to worry, mud baths are good for the skin.
