Anyone even watch those Middle Eastern TV channels anymore?

Well I guess this only applies to people who live or have lived in the ME. The govt owned English channels from Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Qatar, Bahrain and KSA? Does anyone even watch them anymore, or did the dish just kill them?

Back before satellite dish became common in ME, these channels were actually pretty cool. Dubai’s channel 33 and Bahrain’s 55 showed all the new American shows, sitcoms. cartoons and the really cool movies. Bahrain didn’t censor unless there was complete nudity. I remember watching movies on it uncensored, which over here, American cable channels cut scenes out of.

Ofcourse, like everything, KSA’s channel 2 was completely out of the loop. Extreme censorship, old shows which repeated 100 times, old cartoons and lame movies.

Living in KSA in the eastern province, I used to get all these channels, so I am sure people living in other Bahrain or UAE got them too.

KSA's channel 2 was uselss. but Aramco's english cnnel was real fun. I will agree with you about dubai's channel 33 and bahrain's 55.
