I’m not sure if this is in the right section, if there is a more appropriate section then I’m sure mods will be able to move it.
In financially tight times I know some wish they could do more towards charity in other ways than just financially contributing money.
I know there are many orphanages in Pakistan, and my husband comes from Karachi and talked about the Edhi Foundation a lot.
Do orphanages in countries such as Pakistan accept donations of items such as nearly new clothes and toys? I know clothes and toys do not solve ‘issues’ as they were, however I am looking at ways of helping that I know I can do.
I have spoken to many in my area who have agreed they have so many clothes child outgrows so quickly the items end up going in charity bags anyhow, so to donate to an orphanage where they know I will deliver the items by hand would be a great idea too. Plus toys are not seen as a priority I know, but if they bring a smile for a child surely that is a good thing too :halo:
Can anyone share any words of wisdom with me over this idea?
I am also looking at ideas of how to raise money, however will look at developing them later on as I have attempted to organise one event in the last 6 months which went a bit pear-shaped with the feedback that a lot of people do not have the extra money to splash out on charity-point taken thus looking at other ways of supporting charities.
