I know I do. I hate Pakistan being synonymous with Afghanistan, even though the 2 countries are nothing alike. Seriously. Pakistan is a lot more liberal, semi-secular without a dress code and where women have a lot more freedom than women in Afghanistan. All that aside, we have no cultural similarities, we dont eat the same food, dont speak the same, dont look the same and dont even wear the same clothes. Yet Afg-Pak has become a term. I get we share a border (sadly) but that in no way gives anyone the right to compare the two let alone make them sibling countries.
Oh and Afghanistan isn’t even technically in South Asia. It’s one of my biggest pet peeves.
Re: Anyone else get pissed at the term Afg-Pak?

I know I and you aren't the only ones who think the same.

Re: Anyone else get pissed at the term Afg-Pak?
goras and other non Pakistanis living abroad have this weird perception that Pakistan is just like Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia!
whn u tell them tht despite the security concerns, life is pretty normal and we go out, women work, they hold high positions ... we hav all sorts of events happening from fashion shows, art exhibitions to awards shows etc... they go like really????
i dont blame them , its just they know so lil abt our country! no their fault! ... media is the culprit!
but yh like Ahmed said, dont take it seriously! :)
Re: Anyone else get pissed at the term Afg-Pak?
It has nothing to do with similarities between the two countries but rather a statement that American foreign policy in the region considers both countries as a unit. Americans have moved on from destroying one country at a time to one region at a time.
