I love the nude lip thing…it looks so nice on girls..I tried every nude lipstick, light pink, light beige, i just can’t pull it off! I look washed out, weird looking…and yes i do make sure to do a nice dark smokey eye when i do try the nude look…still doesn’t work…I don’t like the way I look! I could just wear it for fashion…but I don’t feel comfortable when I don’t like the way I look in the mirror…i always end up putting my dark pink lipstick over it…
maybe not all desi’s can pull this look off? I know sometimes the nude lipstick doesn’t look good on dark skin tones, mashallah i have light/med skin tone…maybe its my lips shape? i have no idea..i really wish i could though, I love nude lips only on OTHERS!
I am in the same boat. Smashbox's "Sublime" suits me though and a few Cover Girl ones. I look washed out with light color lips. Its harder for medium skins to find light lipsticks that suit them. I have seen African American women who look gorgeous in some nude shades which look awful on me.
I love the look too.. I have really dark lips though so I usually just wear a dark lipstick.. usually Verve by MAC and then use the nude lipgloss over it. The combination doesnt dull me out and it actually looks really good :)
My lips are quite pigmented...they're just so pink I find it hard for me to pull off a true nude lip. I tend to go for pinky or peachy nudes instead of a beige nude.
I wouldn't be able to pull off the traditional nude lips either. I realized my lips are more off a berry color anyways, so if I want to go nude I opt for pigmented lip glosses or whatever
