Pros (IMO) : light and thin, 9+ hours of battery life(as advertised..impressive), sleek design, different colours to choose from, better speaker than the Macbook air, thinner keyboard (not sure if it's beneficial or not), force touch trackpad,
Cons (IMO): less ports, similar portability as Macbook Air, it isn't the faster laptop ( 1.1,1.2,1.3ghz dual-core processor speed intel core M ), storage is pretty limited unless you want to pay a little more to get 512gb flash storage in it, 480p resolution facetime camera(Really?) as compared to traditional 720p facetime camera coming in Macbook Pros.

I think if you want a slightly powerful machine, you should consider macbook pro retina, it will cost you about the same, or maybe a 100/200$ more, which will give you more ports, give you the most bang for your bucks, and the apple logo will glow too ;)
But if power is no concern to you and you dont use laptop's ports much and you have always wanted a golden macbook, then this is the one for you.

PS: with the kind of specification new macbook offers, I think you have many many more better options if you look into other laptops with same kind of crisp screen and portability which will cost you a lot less.

I was told to get MAC book pro with retina but i ended up building my own laptop as it cost me less money.

^^ How do you build your own laptop? did you separately buy motherboard, rams, hard drive, graphics card etc and assembled it ? or did you upgraded these specs on your laptop?

Everything was bought separately to build a new laptop, couldn't not be bothered to upgrade on the old one. Wish I could do the same with mobiles. :/

I kind of stomached the removal of dvd player, but what is the use when all ports are disappearing? I totally disapprove of this new Apple move !

too expensive and needs some iterations to evolve as mature product.
