one of friends is turkish married to a white german and hearing her talk, i have this real urge to go to turkey. It seems like a really balanced, beautiful country. the people must be pretty down to earth.
when i save up enough money that’s the first place i’m going to
Yes I have been to Turkey a few times and loved it through and through.
The West side of the Bosphorus is very Modern despite the Old aspects of Istanbul its still a good blend and most Westernised folk will enjoy the experience. The Coast on both sides of the water is great too for again it's a very liberal and diverse region but if you venture deeper into Turkey the further you go from the Europeans the more Harsh the environment and the people you will meet.
The Sivas region where most of my best friends hang out is famous not only for it's very backward image but also becuase its a region most people would describe as "rough" or "off the beaten track" I love it though becuase the rural foothills are very similar to the Plains of home.
Go Further South Eastwards and you pretty much hit the Steppes and then it's just like home for me. Beyond that are the Desert regions but if you find that too hot you can always venture to the Mountains.
Turkey is full of amazing sights and I recomend it for anyone wanting to get a taste for adventure, and to be honest so long as you avoid the Volatile Kurdish region in the Far South East you will be among one of the safest Muslim countries.
Turkey is one of the few places I can actually say is very much a relaxed zone unlike the Northern areas of Pakistan where foriegners and even locals who are not wise to the area will be constantly in a state of tension most Turks will be more than welcoming and hostility is rare.
^^it's totally not possible now but in the future some time, i'll google the coldest months in Turkey and dream about a visit to the West side of the Bosphorus for now :D i'd rather stay closer to the european side of turkey rather than farther away, no harshness for me, wouldn't be able to handle the people or the environment. nice, thanks for the detailed description
My couple friend went to Turkey for their honeymoon and had time of their lives. One of the most pleasant things for them was how Turkish people gave them extra regard whenever they recognized them as Pakistanis.
I look forward to a visit myself sometime in future.
I have Turkish friends, and one of my friends is married to a Turkish guy, and she wants to go and live there now...they all say it is beautiful..Turkey is def. on "My places to visit" list. One of my friends went there for a visit and ended up living there for I think 3yrs or more!!
Seeing this video makes me want to go back so badly. It is modern, clean, peaceful and yet muslim and with such amazing sight scenes and rich history. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.
