any working mums here

Re: any working mums here

Pregnancy.. VERY hard.. I was throwing up for 17 weeks.. I used to run to the bathroom at work to throw up.. I was exhausted.. second trimester was horrible, I had several trips to ER, I had severe leg and back pain that kept me awake all night, had gall stones that painw as worse than labor.. BUT my work was very accomodating! There were times I came in late but no one said anything.. I have had the best boss ever.. honestly, otherwise I would have quit working! I worked until Friday and my baby was born Sunday night.. I tried to schedule things for Monday but my boss thought I wont make it to Monday and she was so darn right

I only had 4 weeks of maternity leave.. I saved up my vacation and sick time and was able to take 8 weeks off but then since I didnt even take a day off before the baby was born so yep I was home with him for 8 weeks! (not 6 as I mentioned previously)

It was easy when the baby was young.. my mom was here so she took care of him during the dya and since as a new born they do sleep a lot, it was easier to manage.. once my mom left, my husband and I work alternate schedules (me day, him evening) so as soon as I enetered home, he left! He was VERY cooperative, I dont know any guy in my family who has changed as many diapers as my husband so Alhamdulillah for everything!

I tried to bf but it didnt work well so my baby was on formula since he was 6 weeks old so milk wasn’t an issue.. I did bf him at night until about he was 4 months old though!

My mom is here again but she is going back to Pakistan in a month or so, baby will be 10 months old inshaAllah and we are looking for a day care for him.. my husband’s job now isnt as flexible as it used to be so switching schedule may nto work as well as it did before.

Once again, my work is very accomodating… if my husband couldnt stay home, I used to bring him to work or work from home, if possible and my boss didnt have any issues with it.. in fact he is probably more used to people at my work than he is with friends and family that we meet occassionally
Hope this helps.. if you have any more questions, please feel free to ask!
