any trekkies

yep i’m bored, what the heck thought i would open this thread.
Here’s how it goes - name your favourite Star Trek character, either from the original Star Trek series right up to the present - including Voyager, Enterprise, etc. If you attach a pic, that would be slightly more helpful - and please explain your reasons for choosing that particular character. (i suppose most guys will be choosing Seven of Nine from Voyager - if so, no need to provide an explanation for that).

Mine’s Data - he’s just so helplessly cute. The part of him wanting to be human - that is one of the saddest but most touching aspects of him.

Besides which, he’s kinda cute with that cyborg accent too :o

Don't ask me why. :)

B'ELANNA TORRES
[thumb=B]torres.JPG[/thumb]
my fav...she is very intelligent yet little arrogant and thats what i find cute about her.

.

Thanks, everyone :)

waisay Counselor Troi used to be one of my favourites too.
i was sure one of the guys would pick Seven of Nine:~D Guess not.

Jal Pari - i love B'elanna too. Nice choice. :) You're right, she's so intelligent and simultaneously not arrogant. She and Tom Parris make a nice couple.

lolz !

It's not my "wish" - just my prediction based upon comments from some of my friends.
But ah well - i suppose it is the same for gals who used to have crushes on "Spock" or Captain Kirk (from the original Star Trek series).

hehe.. Nadia thinks we’ll pick 7 of 9? Nah, I’ve got one better for you…

Remember the first episode of Enterprise? How bout them alien strippers?! :eek: :biggthumb :stuck_out_tongue: :hehe:

I must say Spock... Originally he was to be dropped by NBC as his character was dubbed too scary for a television series... Leonard Nimoy is an excellent actor, and he played the character so well, even when he was 70 years old. He has directed alot of the trek motion picturs, and directed several episodes. He has appeared in The original series, The Next Generation (Unification 1 and 2), DS9 (Trials and Tribbleations), Star Trek 1 to 6.

The Women of Trek...
There have been many women in trek, here are some of the regular ones ;)

Seven of Nine... Brought in to save the dying show Voyager...
[thumb=B]7of9-16.JPG[/thumb]

The first woman in trek, who featured the first interracial kiss on television, which resulted in the banning of the Original Series.
[thumb=B]uhura.JPG[/thumb]

Sub Commander Tpol, the Vulcan first officer in Enterprise
[thumb=B]tpol1.JPG[/thumb]

Worf's love, Jadzia Dax who died in the last season of DS9
[thumb=B]ds9jadzia05.JPG[/thumb]

Ezri Dax, who came in after the death of Jadzia Dax, as the replacement Trill species.
[thumb=B]untitled30.JPG[/thumb]

Tasha Yar, the security officer in TNG, who died in the second or third season, but featured in alot of the remaining episodes as a Romulan commander (and again as Tasha in an alternate timeline)
[thumb=B]tasha1.JPG[/thumb]

Major Kira Nerys, the rebellious first officer of Deep Space Nine
[thumb=B]art_kira080601.JPG[/thumb]

Quarks Dabo Girl in the Deep Space Nine bar

Hoshi
The Communications offcer in Enterprise

oh wow. Great job - Spock and Spoon. Thank you.

Spock, Leonard Nimoy was my close favourite following on the heels of Data. oh and i liked Geordi LaForge as well - he and Data were best friends.

Speaking of the “women” of Gupshup - who did Uhura kiss that resulted in the banning of the original series? :confused:

:smack: hahhaha… Easy there, Spoon :stuck_out_tongue: Don’t get too excited :stuck_out_tongue: :smiley: lol. i don’t recall watching that episode - but it looks like it made quite an impression on you :stuck_out_tongue:
The cutest Star Trek guys, i think, have been the silent strong types like Spock or Captain Picard, or the helplessly innocent ones like Data. Wesley Crusher wasn’t bad either, but he was a bit too young for my tastes :~D

.

Hi nadia…

There was an episode called ‘Plato’s stepchildren’ I believe, in which Uhura and Kirk kissed each other, as an Alien entity forced them to do. This was the first interracial kiss seen on television, and the show was banned after this. Then in the 70s, an animated trek was started, with the real cast returning to do the voices. Then a new series under the same crew minus leanord nimoy was started, called Star Trek 2, which was eventually changed into Star Trek - The Motion Picture.

Wesay I dont really concentrate on who is cute and who is not cute. I love the show dearly, and have been a die hard trekkie since 1988. Ive seen all the episodes, and am glued to enterprise these days.

Enterprise is good, except that it lacks Gene Roddenberry’s touch… But its way better than Voyager.

I'm a Trekkie! Well, actually, I'm only loyal to The Next Generation.

My favourite room on the Starship Enterprise is the Holodeck.

My favourite 'good' character is Beverly Crusher/Deanna Troi. Actually, I had a little crush on the character Wesley (Beverly's son).

My favourite 'bad' characters are the Borg and Q.

DhP, Unfortunately i haven't seen that episode.

Thanks, Spock, for answering my question. i wasn't aware of that history. Very interesting.
My Nana used to be an avid follower of the original ST series, i think that's where i get my love for this series from.

Mehnaz, Great choice regarding the Holodeck. Isn't that an amazing invention? One of my favourite episodes was where Data played Sherlock Holmes in the Holodeck.
i love their whole concept of the Holodeck.

"Q" is definitely one of the most interesting 'bad' characters.

Mehnaz, wesley was considered a 'pain in the a$$' by most trekkies :) They decided to let him do a cameo in the new movie, but Im glad he didnt have any lines...

Heres a picture of him... Last I heard, he was dating Ashley Judd. Ashley Judd also did a special appearance in one of the TNG episodes...

Keep in mind that I was like 12 years old when I thought he was cute! I am 23 now. :)

What ever happened to him anyway? Ashley Judd is married to a Scottish race car driver. Never heard of Wesley again after the show.

One of my favourite episodes is when Beverly somehow gets zapped into Wesley's bubble project or something like that. She ends up in a parallel world. People start disappearing and then parts of the ship start disappearing ... and she has to run for her life! :)

I found it really disturbing that Deanna Troi ended up with Worf. That was just wrong. I always thought her and No. 1 would be together. They didn't explain how Troi and No. 1 DO end up together in the latest TNG movie.

Mehnaz, Troi and Deanna got together in 'All Good Things...' the last TNG episode, and that was actually an anti-time reality, manipulated by Q, so they werent really together. And then you should recall Worf went to DS9 where he fell in love with Jadzia Dax, so him and Troi were out of the question. So then our Number 1 (Riker) finally had the guts (after what, 13 years) to propose to Troi ;) Their romance was rekindled in 'Insurrection'.
