My son is going to take his NATs in a months time InshaAllah
Even though he is quite intelligent n all mashaAllah…there is a serious problem. He can answer all the sums …n questions within seconds if he’s asked to do it orally…but when it comes to writing it down…he takes a lot of time…basically because he’s lost in his own little world n needs to get a reminder to finish his work in time.
I’ve been using stop watch to train him …but it doesn’t make much difference …if the task assigned is for 3-5 minutes; its fine…but any longer than that n he would forget about the deadline/time limit.
Can any of you give me some ideas please, what should i do about it…???
In this case, I would suggest doing drills with him. The more practice he has the faster he will become. Continue using the stop watch. You could also try giving him a set number of problems that he has to answer in a certain time period- 5 problems in 20 minutes....
The drills will give him practice. What you could do while he's practicing is inform him how much time remains. If you can get his teacher to do the same when he's taking the real test, that would be great!
U can simply make him practise by giving him a job in which he is interested .. like playing with sponge and water .. this will increase his concentration time and he will learn more
his concentration time is less and he needs to practise focussing but it is not necessary u make him write ... other activities of his interest can help him .
