I'm sure some men like the whole romantic thing with flowers and candles etc. But not my husband. He'd laugh his head off if i ever tried that! I'd never hear the end of it. He's a very simple guy with a big heart. All he ever wants is just to know and to hear me say how much i appreciate him and need him. Oh, and massaging his feet helps too.

All you have to do is show you care...
If i came home to a wife 6 months later, I personally wouldn't expect gifts..but her company.
Kind of like what Danial Shah said...I would rather be pleased with having her show me love, and care then some material things.
I would hate it to come home to a wife, who gives me presents and then afterwards doesn't show me the love I deserve.

It’s entirely up to you really. If you want to make it more personal than just his name, how about a nickname that you use for him…or something like 'with love always, (enter your name)
If you’re getting something bigger engraved, like a photoframe for example then you can get a bit more creative and perhaps engrave a line from his favourite poem, song, hadith etc onto it. And you could put a pic of you and him, or you and your son inside the frame.
Keep in mind the cost though, I got something engraved for my husband and it cost a pound per word so I seriously considered using text talk

as for ideas for gifts…
I agree with what most people have said…but being a guy he may not like receiving gifts…thats what i was told anyway…that i cant buy any gifts for him
and I can only buy him a gift when we will be together…and he will go with me and pay himself for it. now thats not fair is it

This is what i would do for my hubby
Day 1
- a nice huge hallmark cards with something for me to wear ;) inside the card.
Day 2
- Boxers with this saying on the back "Property of Nia Khan"
Day3
-Get something electornic- Guys love those things.
Day 4
- a ticket to a cruise for few hours or go far away close to nature for a day.
Day 5
- its weekend time now ;) i would book 2 tickets and run away to disneyland. Be a little kid with him for the entire weekend :D
and everyday i would make sure there are notes here and there to let him know how i feel :D
