While in an interview, in most of the organizations, why do they ask you if you have any relatives working with them?! What’s the reason behind asking this question? How does its answer benefit you?!
Re: Any relatives...
well they ask for several reasons ... for data protection and security reasons mainly. Some firms have internal referal schemes and hence they ask ... i dont think there is much benefit in it ...
Re: Any relatives...
Some companies have policy where two relatives cannot work in the same department .
Re: Any relatives...
^ what Mirch said...
many firms are concerned about perceptions of nepotism in the workplace... so they wouldn't want to hire relatives in direct reporting relationships. Furthermore, sometimes hiring relatives may result in a conflict of interest, so employers want to avoid such situations.
Re: Any relatives...
^ So, even if you have relatives working there, it wouldn't be a good idea to let them know about it?! or should you be just honest and say the truth?!
Re: Any relatives...
^ I think it's not worth it to hide this information. At some firms misrepresenting yourself on an application may be cause for termination even if you are offered the job.
Re: Any relatives...
