These darzi’s aren’t trained in pattern making or cutting, they just guess how it’s made. So one will generally have problems where it doesn’t fit quite right at the shoulder, or gaps at the bust.

Maybe its true for your local gali wala ‘darzi’, but speaking from exprience, a good professional master tailor (and they don’t come cheap at all) in Pakistan can give you any cut and pattern as long as you yourself are absolutely clear with your instructions but more importantly your tailor sees you as his prized customer (yeah they tend to take random cutomers with a one or two outfits lightly). If you go to commercial hubs of cities likes Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, its really not hard to find a tailor who was once worked with a professional boutique.
