It seems like sewing your own clothes is a bit of a dying art form. Especially in my generation (bar those people who are serious in moulding careers in fashion). Any one on here knit?

I used to sew my own shalwar kameez suits, then time became an issue and the cost of buying trimmings to finish the clothes is outrageous when you buy it here. So now I order my clothes from Pakistan.
As for knitting, I know how to (technically speaking) but I’ve yet to actually finish any of the scarves I started :sid:

My sewing is decent, mashah'Allah. I also quilt. You can learn some GREAT sewing techniques on this website:

I sew my own dresses, i also knit and quilt, and i can do crochet as well, in many patterns and designs. But i am too lazy to do any of them :(

i used to sew a lot. I made my own bags, dresses, cushions. My knitting is very basic.

Lucky! Don't ever stop, that is an amazing skill to have. Or should I say SKILLS.

I’ve been sewing for the past 6 months, and this old lady started talking to me in Abakhan about how girls my age didnt sew and how nice it was to see a young girl making her own clothes. So I wondered. I think it’s a useful skill to have. I know how to knit, have made presents for friends, uber long scarves and gloves sets.
@holy_moly. I couldn’t get my head around crochet! I don’t know why!

i would love to sew my own clothes… as its very difficult to find a tailor who CAN sew 
i have found one tailor mushkil se and he never gets time to sew my clothes he is THAT busy!

Thanks! I know, i should not stop, but i am way too busy to make anything, even apart from the above, i can do many types of hand embroidery,bead work, i can also do mukesh work, and a lot of other things :)
I am sure to knit something for my hubby to be this winter though :D

Its really really easy, i once crochet a regular sized shawl for a pakistani friend, and used many patterns in it, it was a beautiful one, i wonder if she still has it, since i am no more in contact with her. but i was a student back then, if asked now, i dont think i will have time to make a scarf :(
