i have it and it really sucks!!! my throat is awful, im takin the antibiotic amoxicillin and the capsules are huge i was wondering if anyone else had this experience and to tell me how long it takes to recover?? i have this really awful taste in my mouth its like soap or something and can really eat much =/ please tell meif anyone has experienced this!

It takes a few days after you start taking amoxicillan. Probably 2 days at least after you start the meds. They do work though so be sure to take the whole prescription (usually a week's supply).

did it leave a bad like soapy taste in your mouth?? everything i eat my mouth has this weird taste in it like medicine or soapy its really gross!

i never had strep throat, but had to take amoxcillin for other reasons. U have to complete its full cycle and it would surely work and yes it did leave a bit soapy taste in my mouth and even makes a person sleepy too. Well atleast it made me sleepy

if u dont eat much, it would last all day. well once ur done with the cycle, it will automatically go away

u mean after 10 days?? ahhhhhhh this is dumb science needs to find a better solution!!!!!! i ate samosa just now feel lil better stomach is making noise but the taste is still awful =( sucks!!

Your throat will start feeling better in 2-3 days if this medicine if effective. But you'd have to bear this bad taste. Try taking the medicine with some food.

actually i started taking it yesturday and my throat infection painfulness is already gone , its not painful now. everytime i take the medicine it makes me gag because the pill is so big! i wonder if i should break the pill. the other thing is i have to take it 3 times a day and its hard to take them at same times =/

Amoxicillin is useless. 
It doesn’t do a thing for me. I usually end up taking very strong anti-biotics. If it doesn’t work after a few days, you should go see your doctor again.

Take some Strepsils to get rid of the taste. Other than that, stick to the antibiotics.

just got finished with my course...took it twice for 10 days!!! yes... tell me about the size!!! although i did smash mine into tiny little pieces :D maybe you should try that...and use a mouthwash after taking the medicine. that might help. :)

i just ate food and its gettin a lil better the taste is still there but not as bad. It says you have to swallow the pill you cant break it =/ everytime i have to take that pill it makes me sooooooo scared i hate it!!! i believe its working thought because so far i am able to eat some food, only time i have a problem and get sick is when i actually take the medicine it makes me really ill.

I cant say im completely better =( my throat feels ok, i think i might get it back =***( i stopped takin medicine that day and ever since it had become like better i dont have a fever and i can eat now, but everyday i have strong cough's and phelm coming out, it really sucks sometimes. i feel today in the back where the hanging ball is i can feel it when i close my mouth and on the right side it feels a lil painful i think i might have a cut =/ i have to go back to the doctors when i get a chance! sucks!!!!!

don't take 500 mg tablet, it will kill your stomach. Try 250mg every 8 hours.

Take your amoxicllin but also gargle with hot salt water every half an hour. Sore throat is a goner.
