we’re totally different in terms of the environment we grew up in she grew up in a tiny town in india and i in the States but our whole family is very conservative, traditional but open minded and flexible if that makes sense so whatever she was used to in terms of her life before marriage to my bro, we actually adjusted to her so she wouldn’t feel as homesick

my mommy is not the typical monster in law as is usually described. She was pretty flexible with bhabi, there was no power clash b/c my mom did everything to help her with cooking and cleaning, didn’t really object to any big decisions made by bhabi and there was no stubbornness or old world thinking of whatever the MIL said was law or any bull like that.

plus it wasn’t all one sided, sis in law also did everything to make the relationship with each family member work and totally tried to integrate with us. I think it’s the perfect set up…hope i can have that too.
