and many urban punjabis speak urdu better than the native urdu speakers too
good to know
most of my friends growing up were punjabis pathans and sindhis strangely
i didnt know a single balochi on a personal level
This is all interesting. I am Punjabi and growing up I have never encountered that many Pakistani people who weren’t Punjabi. I have one friend whose family is from KPK and that is about it. This could also be because I didn’t grow up around an extremely diverse community of desis–I live in a podunk after all.
I speak some Urdu.

Are there any urdu speaking “muhajirs” here on this forum ? What is your opinion of punjabis /pathans/sindhis ? and how is it different from your parents ?

Sindhi, Pathan, Punjabis… they have their language, culture, way of life…They are all different and there should not be doubt.
Opinion should not be formed on community, but at individual level. Siblings are different, living in same house.
Individual experience can not define generalization of whole community.
ofcourse but its an inescapable fact that as humans we do tend to lump people into categories
if not race language then political orientation , fashion , age groups , etc
and again I was asking since my experiences have been so overwhelmingly positive not sure if anyone else had the same
