Any MMA or UFC Fans in Pakistan? Please help!

Hey guys, It looks like I may have to fly out to Karachi on Thursday for a few weeks for a wedding. One thing which is making me consider postponing my trip is UFC 91 on Sat Nov 15th. which I have been looking forward to since it was announced.

Does anyone know if I’d be able to catch it anywhere in Karachi? I’m gonna be on a 56k internet line so downloadings out of the question unfortunately

I’m a huge fan of MMA, it really is a big part of my life. I don’t mind watching it a few days later, but I can’t wait for three weeks till I get back.

If anyone knows where I could watch it, please let me know!

Re: Any MMA or UFC Fans in Pakistan? Please help!

I can't wait for Lesnar/Couture.

Are you looking to watch it after Saturday? If so, there is bound to be some level of 'streaming' if you were to watch the full event online, which will be out of reach for 56K connection.

YouTube it and see if any videos are posted after the event.

Nice to see another MMA fan! Yeah it will be huge, I also can't wait! Hope Captain America picks up the win.

I don't want to sound snobbish or anything, but I don't think I can watch a fight as big as that on youtube or via streaming. I mean, I'm used to watching them on tv over here. I'm guessing it won't come out on DVD or anything a few days later? Ahh man! May have to wait a few weeks!

Is this Lesnar's second MMA fight? I am not actively following his "potential" MMA career. He fought Mir at UFC 81, I think. And I am with you as far as picking Cap' as the winner. Brock Lesnar may survive in MMA, this is too early in my opinion.

YouTube may have a couple of matches, but the entire event sounds unlikely. They may have the event broken down in different clips so you can pick and choose. There are also torrents available which will take weeks to download on 56K. Do you know of any torrents that are publically available?

I do not know if they ever release their stuff to DVD's. Do they?

This is actually Brocks fourth professional fight. His first fight was a against a Korean nobody, his second was the one you mentioned where Frank made him tap, and his third was a victory against Heath Herring. He dominated Heath, but it was it was basically just lay and pray. Brocks a monster, but he is just too inexperienced. I don't like him as he's very cocky and arrogant, and everyone knows he doesn't deserve a title shot, but this is gonna be one of the biggest MMA events ever.

Yeah I think youtube will have the main event for a while, but it will take ages. I'm gonna have to look at my broadband options (I posted in tech). Yep UFC release DVDs, but a few months after the event. I meant the type where you download and then just burn to a dvd lol.

I don't know about torrents as I don't use them anymore. I use Newsgroups/usenet which is much faster and more accessible in my opinion. That has all the MMA and Wresling stuff, pretty much everything games, movies etc...

I book my tickets on Monday or Tuesday, hopefully I'll find some kind of solution till then so I don't have to postpone mt trip for a week, but it's looking unlikely.

Thanks for the mention of their stuff releasing to DVD's and Brock's fight history. I did not know before.

So you are flying out 2 days before the event. There is no chance of a DVD being released before you head back to US, which you said it takes a few months after the event. You may have to use Newsgroups but will that take ages to download/watch? Just read the results on the net and I am sure you will be curious to watch the event after you come back. :-)

Did you follow Brock when he was in WWE? Or any WWE-related material? Are Rena Mero and Lesnar still together?

(Postponing an international trip for a UFC. That's a first :-)

Yeah I followed Brock in the WWE, he really is an awesome athlete. Was very good in the WWE. He and Rena Mero (Sable) are still happily married.

I know it is a first lol, my friends think I'm crazy! I'm actually in London. If I do end up going, I wouldn't want to know the results before watching it, it would ruin an element of the show for me. But thanks for replying at least dhobi_bhai, really appreciate it.

You are going to wait three weeks just to see Brock get thrashed by the Cap? :-) We already know what's in the store. He is not anywhere near the level of someone who has been with this company since the beginning.

If you get a chance, do drop by in a few WWE threads lurking around in Other Sports section, if you are an avid professional wrestling fan.

This UFC will be good. What are your thoughts on Andreson Silva/Patrick Cote at the last UFC? What a fight, Cote's leg gave out.

Although I am confident Brock will lose, weirder things have happened in MMA! Such as Cotes leg giving out!

I was a bit disappointed with that fight, Cote once again showed he has an iron jaw as he ate some good shots, but Anderson was dancing a little too much. I mean being elusive is one thing, but still. I doubt we'll be seeing a rematch. Cote was never a top contender in my opinion. Then again, Silva makes the MW division look weak.

I do follow WWE, will check out the threads. Really miss the attitude era!
