Am thinking of Law as a career choice. How do I get into law without a law degree (if its possible), and whats law like as a career?
Re: Any lawyers here?
Well its not mandatory that you have a bachelors in pre-law, basically just prepare yourself for the LSAT either by KAPLAN or studying on your own. Once you have obtained a decent score apply to Law school, although i do believe that you should have a undergraduate degree pertaining to the social sciences, and a fairly decent GPA. If you have any other questions go to www.kaplan.com and click on the LSAT requirements.. Good Luck!
Re: Any lawyers here?
My undergraduate degree is in History. I suspect I'll get a 2.1-which I think is equivalent to a 3.2-3.4 according to most "conversion" charts.
What is Kaplan?
Are you a lawyer?
Re: Any lawyers here?
Kaplan is a test preparation company. THey offer courses and books on how to do well on the GRE, SAT, GMAT, MCATs, and LSATs.
Re: Any lawyers here?
do law schools look at your application negatively if you sit the LSAT many times? any more info for brits doing law after graduating in UK? fees etc.? does kaplan really help?
Re: Any lawyers here?
just one question for any one in UK. how would a qualified Lawyer from Pak with LLB and a BA, can practice in UK as solicitor? whats the best route to follow??
Re: Any lawyers here?
i was a lawyer wanna-be. does that count? ![]()
my dad said that if i lost my temper in the court during a case, i would be sent behind the bars instead of the criminal for banging the judge’s head, so i dropped the idea to be a lawyer ![]()
Re: Any lawyers here?
New qualified solicitor at your service here.......
Shak, as far as I know anyone with an L.L.B from a pak uni can still follow the normal route to qualify as a solicitor by completing their Legal Practice Course. I don't believe the same applies if the individual in question has a B.A but the criteria to get onto an LPC course varies from university to university.
Re: Any lawyers here?
Brit,
Whats the route for British graduates (non law) to get into the legal profession, as a barrister of course?
