Yes, the mother FINALLY showed up, 3 hours after she was first called. And the first call went out within 15 minutes of the child being dropped off to begin with! Wednesday was our last day of school before the Winter Break, and we had early release at 1:00. Our receptionist was on vacation, so I was filing in up front, or else usually I wouldn’t have been so involved. At 10:45, our principal went into a meeting and said that if the child was not picked up within 30 minutes, I was to call CPS, and then come and get it her. Luckily, the mom showed up by 11:15. It was a very emotionally draining day.
