Re: Any Ideas For Sunday

Here is the recipe chicken jalfrezi...whatever you choose good luck!

1 ½ lbs chicken breast
Shan chicken jalfrezi masala packet
1 red onion
1 bell pepper

1 juicy tomato
1 cup yogurt (dahi)

-Cut chicken into cubes and add shan packet to chicken and coat well (let it marinate for about 10-15 minutes) Add the packet according to personal taste and how much masala a person prefers because sometimes the whole packet is too much*

-Dice bell pepper and onion into big chunks and add into one bowl and coat with the yogurt

-Heat some oil on medium/high heat and add diced tomatoes, sauté until a paste is formed on a lower heat setting

-Add marinated chicken into the tomato paste and stir (crank up the heat a little), while chicken is cooking taste check to add any more spices if needed…..I usually add around ½ tsp salt and ½ laal mirch with a pinch of haldi

-continue to cook and taste check again and adjust accordingly

-While cooking chicken add a splash of water if needed

-when chicken looks about done, add vegetables coated with yogurt and switch to a high heat setting

-cook the vegetables, they shouldn’t take too long

-if you want more a ‘sauce’ add a little water

-when done add some dhania (optional)
