to the best of my knowledge it is not at all allowed to cut off the body parts of anyone, except cutting hands for a thief.... cutting off nose, ears etc is strictly prohibited, even in a battlefield....

I agree.

To the best of my knowledge, mutilating a dead body is not permissible.
