and I heard that they wont allow Al-Baik to open any more branches in other cities b/c it effects other fast food’s economy

:halo:Yeah its because the owner of al baik is a palestinian and the owner of kfc is a saudi prince or something. He freaked out when al baik was trying to expand into riyad hand him being palestinian didnt really allow him any choices. But they have one in makkah though (half the reason I went there:halo: )

which Al-Maktaba??? I don’t EXACTLY remember Giant superstores :D..i remember Al-raya and Al-watani

i lived right BY the plane roundabout :D…i also lived by Jeddah Prep..i used to walk to jeddah prep :D..and then i changed schools to PCS..i moved to Al-Ruwais

Al-Baik was opening in Madina tohh when i was last there in 2001.

i miss going to makkah and madinah :(…it is a blessing really to live THAT close to the two holy cities.

Dewana Tera; I'm talking about the al maktaba near the compass roundabout. I also lived in al-safa near jeddah prep before I went to riyad. Which year exactly did u go to JP and what class?

Evil Mastermind; I dont remember any turkish rest between makkah and jeddah just some mc donalds and al-tazaj chicken (crap). The best BBQ restaraunt has to be Lebanese Fruit Juice near the tahliya bridge. Anyone remember that?

i went to jeddah prep until '92...6th grade :D..mrs liffiton (if i remember correctly) was my class teacher :D..i'm gonna look up my jeddonian when i go home today :D

I used to hate going to makkah because my parents would stay for so loooooooooooooooong praying and stuff but now I miss it. We used to come on thursday and spend the night in the hilton and leave after juma. But I really love madina, so serene, most peaceful place on earth

lil the only thing I couldnt stand (while I was naive) was to do Tawaaf! its like everyone’s feet is on ur feet! and it would take soooooooo long

maybe not the best place to live...but personally i wouldn't mind living there...just the fact that its soo close to makkah/madinah makes me want to live there...plus...its not THAT bad..if it were bad..u wouldn't be missing it. surprisingly..ppl live there and don't like it..but miss jeddah like crazyyyyyy after leaving it....

Oh yeah! I remember Mr. Allcock, scary guy with that overgrown moustache. He used to bring his guitar in assembly and play these cheesy tunes literally forcing us to sing. I remember getting into deep**** with him once for kicking some kids ass in year 1 lol.

EM: Tawaf was torture with all these rude desis pushing and shoving espcially the sweaty hairy men bumping into you. YALLA HAJJI YALLA! And sure I would go back to live in jeddah in a heartbeat. Pity they dont give nationalities though, I was born there

DT: I miss the food mostly. I owuld love to go back and visit and live like for a month but actually settling there ...eerrr NO!

yes I am a female and being an independent woman its kind a tough to think and go back and live at a place which 99.9 % requires dependent on male! I just can't do it :-s can't even drive yo :S
