Any good places in Karachi to see?

So I’m going to be travelling to Karachi for the third time in Feb/March but since I’ll have more time this time around I really wanted to explore more of the city.

I’ve pretty much seen all the shopping places like Dolmen, The Forum, Atrium, Tariq Road shops, etc. I’ve been to Port Grand, sea view too but was wondering if there are any historical or proper sights to see that might not be so well heard of? Also hopefully they are relatively safe areas..

Anyone heard of Mohatta Palace? It looks really nice and something not really mentioned.

Any good suggestions?

Mohatta Palace is a good start but its actually just outside Karachi, there are a few good places a little further ahead like Thatta Mosque and Maqli graveyard both are of great historical significance. As for places in Karachi, I'm afraid its only malls and cafes/eating places. However you can try and go to a local theater performance. Some really good plays are being showcased these days and the crowd is decent too at places like MAD school, T2F and Alliance française de Karachi. For a good movie experience you can try Neuplex besides Atrium, and if you havent been to do-darya then its a must place to visit for a late dinner.

Is the area around Thatta mosque and Malki graveyard safe? I'm getting mixed responses from people so just wondering...

The way to these place from Karachi is through National highway, the road isnt in very good condition but drivable. There are police checkpoints all over the road at about 2 to 3 kilometers apart, tell your driver to keep "20 rupay wali gaddi", stop at the checkpoints "shake hands" with police, roll over, and drive along. Probably your host in Karachi knows this.... The area around these places is relatively safe, considering these are established and maintained tourist spots

Kolachi at DO darya- all menu is good but must try are paneer reshmi handi, peshawari karahi and fish
sajjad at do darya
For rolls: Eaton, Hot n Spicy, Red Apple
Sunday brunch at Asia live at avari tower hotel
BBQ tonite for BBQ
Noorani, Zameer Ansari, Abdul ghaffar,meeruth for bbq
Fine dining options: Koel, Fortyfour, Okra, Cafe flo, Xanders, Cafe Aylanto, Pompei, East end, Hook line sinker, cafe Vintage, Casbah at beach luxury
Chinese: Dynasty at Avari, China Kitchen, Red emperor, Yaung Tung, Little China
Japanese: Sakura at PC, Fujiyama at Avari
Thai: Baan Thai, Fuchsia
Buffet: Lal Qila, Rangoli, Salt n pepper village
Besides, food street at burns road and boat basin are worth paying a visit.

Btw for these many places listed, you definitely need an year cuz after eating out at one place it takes 2 weeks to settle yr stomach down. Make sure you hv a lot of :

LOL oddly enough it’s my Pakistani born husband who gets sick while there while my Canadian stomach can handle it.

But yah most days I’ll be cooking with my MIL but for those nice days where we can dine out, it never hurts to try something new.
I have a stash of medicines ready to go! lol
