hi Guppies, i really need to know a good dermatologist, preferably a female. since 3,4 months I’ve started to have a weird allergy on my skin which just starts with a burning sensation and leaves long red lines on the effected area even without scratching ( i avoid that), i’m unable to find if that’s because of any food intake or something but its getting worse. I’ve been married for 8 months now and i never had any kind of allergy before marriage, so i’m kind of confused about what could be the reason of it? should i see a dermatologist or some other doc?
help pleaaaaaaase.

see your family physician...he will decide if you need to see a Dermatologist.

I went to see my physician n he told me it might be because of any different food intake n asked me to closely monitor that. But it has nothing to do with that, it just starts anytime.

then why didn't he send you for allergy tests? i dunno if you are in Pakistan or any western country...here in Canada, my family physician would have definitely referred me to an Allergist who would do a systemic allergy tests to determine allergens.

I go to dr safoora national hospital but dr haroon nabi is really famous.
I have been diagnosed with lichen planus which are papules kind of rash on skin and they itch. I researched a lot and there is no cure for this skin condition and it goes away in 2-4 years. Many skin conditions are self limiting and lahore's climate exacerbates some skin diseases.

i'm in pakistan, i went to dr haroon nabi before few month of marriage when i was having acne problem,n he was good but hes more into lasers and all and i was concerned if i should go visit him again or not plus ive been to Dr atif kazmi as well but that too was long ago.. now thats something weird which has just started is quite irritating for me.at any time, any part of my body starts to feeel strong burning sensation with reddnes. raania did your doctor advised about some tests ? here i don't see any doctor recommending tests early.

he did not mention about allergy tests at all and yes i'm in Pakistan but i do want to have a proper treatment for it, since these small things may lead to more problems in the future and i want it to be diagnosed and treated well.

oh i see...i think the best bet for you would be to ask the same physician you say to refer you to a good Dermatologist...Good Luck and May Allah give you the cure you want...aameen

Yup she did advise some tests to clear out doubts and they were clear alhumdullillah!
