my bhanja, who just turned one has developed a strange kind of illness. it started with diarrhea, and has now become persistent high grade fever, and lumps on his thighs. the doctors havent been able to diagnose it.. urine/blood tests dont tell anything.
he has become very weakened as a result of sustained fever/diarhea.
has anyone seen this before? any idea what this could be?

hmm..is he in karachi? u shud ask ur sis/bro in law to take him to the child specialist ghaffar billo...hes sposed to be the best one in karachi...or else take him to the child specialists in AKU..

btw ravage, it could be typhoid, did they get him tested for typhoid/malaria?

u get high fever and diarrhea in typhoid..
the lumps on the thighs could be unrelated, or a secondary reaction

no rash sadzz as far as i know. lumps.
irem its probably not typhoid/malaria. they're easier to diagnose.. my sister is a pedes person herself so she'd have caught that..
are there any reliable e-medicine options i could use? i dont have the baby so I cant take him physically anywhere. but are there any people you can maybe consult online ya kuch?
hmmm...ask ur sis to send his medical reports to doctors in pakistan, and maybe to u as well, maybe u can show em to someone in usa...maybe u guys have some doc relatives abroad..
ive heard of e-clinics..ive never tried one but try google and see what u come up with?
nothing so far irem.. one disaster situation is lymphoma, which exhibits lumps in the groin and fever amongst other things.

MRI and biopsy came clear.. its just some streptococcus shreptococcus.. ofcourse not great to have but minor as compared to what i was afraid of..

I had a friend with around over 20 lumps or lipomas on his upper body. It was weird but he seemed to be fine.
