Hi is there any Dhamials on Gup Shup, I would like to chat about our Past in Punjab, starting from Raja Mal Khan - Raja Jodh Khan( Raja Mal,s Son and younger brother of Raja Bahir Khan )- Raja Mubarak Khan Dhamial-…? after him who were his offsprings…I need a list till present..if anyone can help…

:BiB: Yes Dhamial is close to Rawalpindi, if you have known to Dhamial Air Base or Dhamial Camp, that's where it is located and if in Google Earth search enter Dhamial in local search you can have a close look at it and also if you travel from Rawalpindi to faisaladad on Motorway you will find large sighns for village Dhamial.
Its not only a ward its a Rajput family who have ruled this area before Raja Ranjeet singh. There refrences could be found in L.H Grifen's books.

It was once pronounced as Dhami Wal meaning thereby the clan or brotherhood of Dhamis. Over a priod of time, two words Dhami-Wal were fused both in spellings and in sound and it became Dhamiyal. Dhamiyal was indeed, once an important Rajput Caste of the Pothowar Belt. The naming of famous Dhamiyal Camp in Rawalpindi with their reference further signifies the once dominence of Dhamiyals in this region. Infact Dhamiyals are prsent in small number in Murree and Kashmir as well. Other related Rajput castes with Dhamiyals are Misriyal, Mattiyal.

Thanks Dr. Sufi for shareing information. There are other Rajputs who claims to be part of Dhamials for example Janjua in Rawalpindi and Jhelum, Kala in Muree and Abbotabad, Ranials in Dina and Jhelum, Dhamial and Khaka in Kashmir, Tanoli in Hazara and now as you mentioned which is new information for me. It seems you have good knowledge about us or you are also part of our family. Please do add more light on it and if you can give me references of the books as well, there are some books written by L.H Griffen, Mohammed Anwar Janjua and there is a book called Farishta or Tarikh-e-Farishta and its about the same time when Dhami Sultan lost his kingdom and it was just after the murder of Shehab-ud-Din GHORI by Ghakhars with the help of Sikhs.

hi i am a descendent of sultan dhami khan.my relative gave me a copy of a family tree going back 13 or 14 generations.we live in dhamial ,chakswari ,azad kashmir.I am told my forefathers came from near rawalpindi.can any one give me more info on this matter.

Sultan Dhami Khan could not have been ruling an independent kingdom during Shahabudin GHori's era, if his ancestor Rai Mal Khan was also alive and fighting the same Ghori.....
Dhami Khan was a later descendant of Raja Mal who aided Ranial sirdars into conquering respective regions of Dhamial and Ranial, known even today as the region of the 2 Rajeh.
The name is also applicable in Mirpur sides to a Jut tribe which is also known as the Dhami-al, which are, again, known as Dhami's 'al' or descendants (ahl means descendants), and beyond a similarity in name to the Janjua Dhamials, they have no connection to them at all and are an independant distinct tribe.
