So what is the difference between SAM and ORACLE?
Are you talking about SAM, Sofware Asset Management?? I dont have any exposure to that.
However, I love Oracle databases. I think its the best database technology especially for large enterprises.
Ofcourse if you are a DB guy we can talk a lot about that. I prefer such discussions cuz there is always a lot to learn. Afterall nobody is the king and we all are in the same boat.
Please elaborate if you have anything else in mind
Re: Any database administrators (DBAs) here?
which database do you work on SID?
Primarily on ORACLE.....like 90% of the work.
Rest 10% is divided into DB2, Sybase and Ingres.

Thanks SID...........the closest I've come to data bases is used access and quicken .. if it can be called data base.
just curious..........seems SAM experts are in high demand.........then Oracle is used all over!

Good 4 u. SQLserver is much easier to manage. But that makes you limited to Windows OS only
Re: Any database administrators (DBAs) here?
Thats the idea. I m also a programmer. Like everywhere employers want diverse skill set. I manage the SQL Server with 5 databases and the front end application which is written in ASP, PERL, JavaScript and VBScript.
