Any Advise?

:salam2:

Now a days i’m not feeling very well. Some misfortuantes happened and whatever i do goes wrong or end up negatively.

Currently, i’m studying and working. My job is permanent, Am studying more for 2 reason i) to get higher education ii) to get more salay (money is not an issue), so i can bear my education expenses. Moreover i’m trying to learn Qur’an with translation and tafseer.

What a life, get up early in the morning, go office, come back, go for study, and after that go for islamic studies. mainwhile u hav to do some home related works etc etc. and same routine every single day.

Conflict occured when i can’t decide what to do? Sometime i think 'yaar dafa karo studies ko or continue the job. The studies will only increase US$50 in ya salary, better u studies about Islam.

When i study about Islam then ‘yeh duniya ki muhabbat khatam ho jati hay’. and i don’t want to struggle anymore to get higher postion or salary etc.

i’m :konfused: any advise?

Re: Any Advise?

slow and steady..plan it and get it done. if timing is a huge issue, cutback one for sometime. or cutback a little on both.

Re: Any Advise?

the only thing is don't give up anything just 'caz u don't get enough time or you are not able to manage it .. .. .. if you are determine .. yuou can do it ..

let me quote my example, in last term ..I was taking 4 courses in masters program, 2 researches, TA for 2 courses and night shift job on alternate days .. .. it could not get more worst .. .. for a graduate degree .. but Thanks To God that i din give up and i got A in 3 of my courses :) ..

if i had to pick one.. higher education or studying islam.. i’ll definitely pick islam.

Re: Any Advise?

I would take X2's advice and cut back on both a little to bring a balance in your personal life. Learning about Islam and studying for career purposes are both life-long processes, you'll never be completely "done" with them which means that you can't say, let's forget studying for now and let me learn about Islam first. But what you CAN do is make it so they're not a burden on you. Hope this helps.. :)

Only $50 dollars per year? I dont know what industry you are in…but it must be more, but if not, it doesnt seem worth it at all then… take the Islamic learning…

Re: Any Advise?

It's very nice to know that you want to learn Qur'an with translation and tafseer. Keep that up, no matter what. You have an intention of doing something that will please Allah (inshaAllah), so why not keep doing it. As someone already mentioned, Islam should be your first priority. However, don't let it become a burden on yourself. Do as much as you can along with your studies and job. To study for a good reason and with a good intention of making a good living is also something you should give importance.
So the best solution would be to come up with your own schedule by which you will be able to manage both your job and studies, and also islamic education.
Remember, learning of Qur'an is not done by spending more time on it, it's done by correctly understanding it (by its tafseer and translation) as much as you can, no matter how much time it takes you. So try not to make spending more time a way of learning Qur'an. Rather, try to understand what you read, be it in even very little time. This can be done in your spare time after you come home from work and study. Or take half-an-hour before sleep to do it. Or even daily after any namaaz (like I'sha), you can study the tafseer of a few verses for about half-an-hour. But do try your best to do it daily.
In this way your islamic education won't interfere with your work and regular studies, and you will be able to give attention to both, deen and dunya, (inshaAllah).

Re: Any Advise?

u need to cut back on some of the things. Why don't u make ur studying part time? Instead of having to attend classes everyday, make it so u only have classes on couple of days. u can also ask to have ur job part time while u complete ur studying. u need some time for urself. its good that ur doing all this, but u really need some time to just sit down, clear your mind and relax.

Re: Any Advise?

I would not cut back on Islam... in your shoes i would carry on working... perhaps give up the studies... if the benefits are not that good... and definatley keep studying my faith.

I used to have this dilema years ago... i found i could work practically any job anywhere and i have proven that. I chose to keep my faith studies but i dropped out of higher education because the teaching quality was awfull.

Yeh dunya matlub kee hain... is so true.

However my strong faith ensures i do all i can to leave the world in my wake... faith is all conquering!

Good luck with whatever you choose to do.

Allah help guide you to the correct path and may that path be a happy and succesfull one for you brother.

Ameen.

I don’t think so Islam forbid you to make money! I know many scholars who are well settled but I must advise you to continue Islamic Education for your eternal life.

:salam2:

X2! I agree.

T1000! :mash2: Keep it up & may Allah SWT sucessed u in every filed.

Lahori99! I think here every 1 without any hesitation will pick Islamic studies but the deed is to keep balance in both educations.

Safoora! I agree. I can’t say that i’ll finish Islamic education first then i’ll start education for career purpose. I’m trying to balance this all but in some cicumstances i’m always behind and i hate when this happen.

Sara! its $50 per week

name_105: I agree. thanx  But let me tell u how i learn/search Islamic Studies/information. Let me Share starting ayats of Surah Al Baqrah [2:2]. “This is the Book, whereof there is no doubt, a guidance to those who are Al-Muttaqun”. Now in this ayah we have to thing **1) the book (which book) 2) Guidance for Al-Muttaqun (who are Muttaqun). **This how i learn exact meaning/point word by word by searching/reading etc.

Angelfairy! i’m studying part-time and i wish if my job could be part-time but alas! i can’t do this b’coz my parents r living with me and i have to take care of them, means they r my responsibility so i need full time job.

FD! thanx. Somehow, i’m trying my best to make a balance in my life but unfortunately the time is not in favor of me. few months back everything was going smoothly n perfect and i completed my first semester (resulted passed). But in next semester some misfortunates happen due to i lost deadlines of my assignments etc. This caused waste of time and money and especially my efforts. The education is quite expensive here and its kinda boring if again n again read same books.

**Gypshy! **Whatever happen in my life, i will not stop studying Islamic education or learning Qur’an.

I went to Pakistan for further studies but due to family issues i returned in the mid of my (final semester) education which caused me 2 years loss. Here education is difference from pak and its quite expensive i.e. for one semester (duration six months fee is US$ 2000). Moroever, I hav taken responsiblities of my parents or u can Allah SWT Given me this opportunity to serve my parents. That why, i really need a good job with better salary (to bear expensive of my studies n to support my parents). In past four years, i changed 4 jobs (looking for better) and this is how i lost almost 6-7 years of my studies.

Now Alhamdullilah i got better job but there is one fault. We know the exact time when office start but we don’t know when the offices will colose its mean we have to work more than eight hours.

I appreicate and thankyou all for your valuable adivce/comments and I hope ke Allah SWT! whatever decided for me it will be best in my favor indeed right know maybe i’m unable to understand.
Thankyou :aliyish:

Re: Any Advise?

A higher education will mean you have more opportunities outside your current area of work. Work is important. A higher education will increase the possibilities.

This is going to be the unacceptable answer, but if you need extra time, cut down on the Islamic studies. Finish your higher education, continue your job and when you are done with your higher education pick up the Islamic studies again.

If you over extend yourself you will not deal with anything properly.

Thanx CM :k:

Re: Any Advise?

There is a saying that is appropriate in this situation:

It's a Wise Man Who Knows His Limitations

Don't stretch yourself so thin that everything becomes a burden and you aren't able to get the most out of it. Definitely cut back to a schedule that isn't so overwhelming, and inshallah things will look brighter. Good luck!

Thanx partyslims :k:

Re: Any Advise?

Dont drag yourself. Unless you are enjoying it, there is no point doing it.

cut down on the thing that you are least enjoying. Once you are done with the rest, chances are that you will pick it up from where you will leave it.

Re: Any Advise?

:hmmm:

As i heard 'When parents r getting over-age they act like child and this kind of situation with me where i can’t pay attention to my job, studies neither anything else.

This is very helpful k i cutback few things which i can resume later on.

Thanx D6C!

You know your situation best.
Don’t give up on anything permanently, but do cut back from one of the studies for the time being. Keep some time for yourself to relax and have the energy to continue.
Good luck :phati:

Re: Any Advise?

I really do not understand your question.

A very good approach. That's a very good way of understanding the verses. Keep it up, as long as you are giving time to your other duties too. As I said before learning of Qur'an is not done by spending more time on it, it's done by correctly understanding it as much as you can, even if that takes you very little time.
