Anxiety

Everytime we visit my inlaws, they always arrange for get togethers with close family friends of theirs who always seem to get offended at even the smallest things. My inlaws are of similar nature. The problem is, I am anything but diplomatic and say what’s on my mind which seems to have caused some issues in the past with the aunties. I have then tried to keep mum and not say much which again was a problem as they thought I was being rude. Now the problem is, we have been visiting them alot because I am expecting a baby and they have been asking for us to come see them regularly but everytime we go, there’s always a party going on every single day. I don’t know if it’s because of my pregnancy that even though I am okay while I am there but once I leave to come back home, I get severe anxiety attacks. I cannot stop thinking and worrying if I said something that was offensive and when the husband will get a call from the MIL complaining. I cannot seem to overcome the anxiety for days and I’m afraid as I don’t want anything to affect the baby. I need to be more non-caring towards what those people say or think about me but just cannot do it :frowning:

Re: Anxiety

Don't say something to annoy them out of respect.

Re: Anxiety

Aww cant u talk to husband about it?

Re: Anxiety

Can u elaborate on the kinds of things they make issues about. Do u get a chance to explain yourself to ur in laws or does ur hubby do that on ur behalf. And what does he think about all this.

Re: Anxiety

How do you know what they say?
