I am not a punjabi. But one should know that 60% of pakistani population lives in PUnjab. Hence in a democratic system the region with most of the population dominates.
Most of the wealth is acutally generated by agriculture in Punjab and alot of industries in karachi and urban punjab. But yes federal gov should give money to poor areas like NWFP and rural sindh go get rid of poverty and the grievances of those poor people.

1. Why would India want any of Pakistan, all that would do is increase its already troublesome muslim population.

2. Before you advocate joining NWFP w/ the poorest most backwards nation in the world (Afghanistan) - why dont you ask Hindko speaking people what they think of it. I know most of my relatives wouldnt be impressed.

I am also a Hindko but our regions are within the Punjab province, Hindko and Pashto speaking people in NWFP don't seem to get along do they? Where I come from the only difference between the two is language.
I've met a few Hindko speaking people from Peshawar and the only thing they have in common with us is language, and I here they’re up to no good in NWFP giving us a bad name lol, their culture is different but I still like them because of their language, they can migrate to Attock and the Pashto speaking refugees from Afghanistan can go back, those guys are well funny, they say they're going back home so they get the financial grants, do this a few times and then eventually just decide to stay.
Local Pashtuns however are fine and the Dari speakers are cool too, in fact the Dari people only speak Dari with their parents, most of our generation speak pure common Hindko just like our grandparents, they've assimilated very well, speak our language, look like us, dress like us, cook like us and talk bad about Kabul (that's not a good thing), our neighbour went back to fix their houses and stuff and the kids who grew up in Attock were glad to be back, they said it's all dry and sandy and no proper greenery anywhere over there.
^My urdu is'nt great so I don't totally understand what you are saying in the first part.
Most Hindko speaking people live in Hazara district with a significant number in Peshawer as well, both are currently classified as part of NWFP. You seem to casually say they can "migrate" to Attock/Punjab. A very strange statement indeed. You speak of creating another partition. Do you think that people will willingly leave their homes and property. Why should we leave our ancestral land? To tell us to join Afghanistan is an even worse possibility. So if this ever happens (and it never will) you can expect an all out civil war...... Seems like an incredbily stupid proposal to me. Sorry did'nt mean to be harsh but those are the facts
