oh all this sweat/deodorant stuff reminded me of an incident which happened in Pak while i was doing my F.Sc. there.
I use to ride the college bus and one day on our way back home. There were no seats available and all my friends and I had to stand up in the bus. I am 5'3 in height and the girl standing next to me had to be 5'8. My nose was right in her armpit. One sniff of whatever was brewing under those pits was enough for me and i landed on the floor. I had fainted. The bus driver uncle had to stop get a 7-up for me. I came too after a few minutes. The bus uncle dropped me off first and my friends accompanied me. My God i will never forget that day or that awful underarm odor. But, when us friends get together we still laugh our heads off to this day. There is no concept of personal hygiene or deodorant in Pakistan atleast it was not 8 years ago.
^^ Mahru, funny story ! Yeah, you are right. Many people in Pakistan don't use deos. I have even met good, educated classy people and even their moms and dads have major B.O. issues. Its funny you guys mention all this...
I have been watching the MUSIK channel and there are tons and tons of rexona ads. The ad lingo is "REXONA, AAP KA AETEMAAD AAP KAE SAAT."
I don't know what exactly they are trying to say but I noticed Rexona is definitely taking the lead in terms of advertising in Pak.
anything that screws up with natural system of body is bad.. (in long run) instead of not letting sweat out, i will recommend deodorant. specially now that summer is here and physical activity level is gonna increase..
my gym bag has a spray-deodorant and a small bottle of cologne at all times along with a plastic bag and a towel..

...hmmm like birth control pills:D.....lol
it's a matter of personal choice, you decide to smell good by using an anti perspirant...but it's at your own risk....same with anything else...cause life does not come with 0% risks...anyone can be hit by a truck while crossing the street...After closing gs:(
^ because there is absolutely no use of an anti-perspirant or a deodrant?
I got myself a deodrant today; however, I must say I had to look really hard to find one. The majority at Shoper's Drug Mart were anti-perspirants with only a few deodrants for women.
Are there any recommended brands and locations, so that it'll be a lesser hassle next time around?
I recently had to see a doctor as a result of an allergic reaction (likely) because using deodorants. I was told although deodorants mainly prevent odour or try to cover it, but they more or less function like antiperspirants, as they too (to an extent) prevent an individual from perspiring.
Hence, I was told to switch back to antiperspirants and was told there's nothing wrong with it or nothing to worry about.
there are many deodorants that are not anti perspirants.
and ppl asking about sweat in the pits vs general body need to read up on the diff in the type of sweat, plus the conditions in the pits vs lets say forehead in terms of sweat evaporating etc.
desis just need excuses to not use deodorants..ever been at the airport when an air india or PIA flight has arrived..
Who cares if deodrants are bad for you, its a small price to pay to get rid of body odor. People in pakistan have serious body odor issues, the concept of deodrants is alien to them. And the weird thing is that noone seems to mind or notice, its always me who gags every time . Its not just the guys its the girls too…especially the hijabis
