its really sick if true. specially they choose to do this humiliating act when their prime minister is already being severely criticized in Pakistan (also in the UK) for the rubbish he uttered. and our professional beggar president shamelessly is visiting UK for some more money???
It should be abundantly clear that the British government and media have commenced a campaign against Pakistan both at the diplomatic and propaganda levels. Prime Minister David Cameron fired the first salvo deliberately choosing India so as to have the proper impact in Pakistan. Our state, seeming to wallow in abuse at the hands of the White Man, pussyfooted around these abusive remarks and shamefully President Zardari continued with his private visit to the UK while the Foreign Office woke up only days later to summon the British High Commissioner - when it realised the public outcry was getting stronger. Not that any of this mattered since the British Prime Minister was totally unrepentant and, just to make sure the Pakistanis got the point, he reiterated that he meant what he had said and was neither going to take his words back or express any regret over them. Now where does Foreign Minister Qureshi stand, given how he insisted the Cameron remarks were a mere “slip of the tongue”?
Following Cameron, The Independent (clearly not so independent of UK government links!) newspaper has now seen fit to distort the Pakistani flag in a way that clearly insults the nation. Would they dare to do something like this to the Indian flag? This is a repeat of the blasphemous cartoons targeting Islam in the absurd claims of “freedom of expression”, only this time Pakistan is the target. Everyone knows the national flag symbolises the nation and the British media, by disfiguring the flag, has assaulted the state and nation of Pakistan. How many more insults will our leaders compel us to bear? Is there no end to how much abuse we are meant to take in the post-9/11 era?
Hmmmmmm then thay say Pakistani in Pakistan are not willing for a change. Whereas they themselves cant even move their butts to protest or ask the govt. regarding this matter.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi pulled another 'Kaira/Rahman Malik' when he immediately came out and said Cameron's statement was a slip of the tongue, considering the British PM issued a follow up confirming what he meant and said he offered no apology. Now someone like the other thread will come out and defend Shah Mahmood qureshi like they were defending Rahman Malik and Kaira, please spare it and just admit this Govt consists of incompetent fools who act in haste.
Their past cartoons included showing the Indian Prime Minister as a pervert sexually molesting the British Prime Minister, so I think that the violent condemnation by the original article is misplaced. The cartoons don’t seem to have any particular bias at all.
At any rate, the face in the flag is that of the British Prime Minister, placing his own foot in his mouth, a British English terminology for making an embarassing mistake.
The cartoon illustrates the British PM making a mistake about Pakistan. I don’t see any malevolent intent in it.
It was foolish. The British press on both the left (including the Independent, rhough this cartoon and editorials), and on the right have both rightly attacked him for it.
Frankly, with such media support as well as support for Pakistan that is coming from prominent politicians, it should be easy for Zardari to get Cameron to issue a clear statement in London that Pakistan does not export terror.
If Zardari fails to do so, it will be further evidence of his utter incompetence.
there is a huge difference between making cartoon of a PM and making fun of a nation’s flag by disfiguring it. A PM who is merely a person, a politician, who’s cartoons are made and published almost on daily basis in their own countries. while a Flag, is a symbol of the whole nation, humiliating a flag means humiliating a nation.

A PM is who the people choose to represent them. For an outsider to mock the PM is to mock the people.
In the short time i've spent in the UK i have realised that like a lot of other people british people are pretty ignorant.
Most probably couldnt point to Pakistan on the map let alone know it's flag.
However it's not going to damage Pakistan in any way.
Cartoons have been made of greater things this was to be expected.... i must admit i would have thought it would have been in papaers like the SUN which are read by a lot more people than in something likethe *Independant. *
On the plus side few will see it so it's not going to affect anyone.

not really, does not happen in Pakistan. where bellow 40% population votes, out of which PM belongs to a collation govt with maximum 60% of the total voting. and even that voting might be rigged.
a PM or president for that matter, will be mocked for his acts in personal capacity, or acts of the govt as whole, not the nation.
and by the way, our run-away-president is there, kindly do all the mockery to him or i say better dig a hole and bury him deep in there, plz dont let him back.
MS, 'foolish'? Thats all? Here we are taking orders from them, fighting their wars and a lot of you claiming its the right thing to do?
Why is it "their" war, and not ours? What makes you think we are following "their" orders and not our own choices?
We chose to recognise Karzai's government as the sole and legitimate ruler of Afghanistan. We chose to take action to prevent his forces being attacked by groups supported by other groups on our side of the border.
You might have such as low opinion of Pakistan as to think that Pakistan blindly obeys others; but I know that Pakistan, despite the propaganda, remains a strong enough country that is can make its own choices on its destiny.
Come on now, no need to mince words. We already know what Paksitan, as in Pakistanis think about their spineless leaders and cowards. I am referring to your beloved Musharrafs, and the Zardaris and his alliance of thugs.
Where do you run away to every time a drone comes into Pakistan? I am sure the person who gets attacked by the drones get a choice on its own destiny… to end it…
You can claim all you want (I do admire your patriotism and wish what you said was correct), but our leaders take orders from others.
