Anti-Pak lines not Akshay's cup of tea

** akshay kumar at his best **

MUMBAI: Akshay Kumar says he has returned to star in Ab Tumhare Hawaale Watan Saathiyon only after its director Anil Sharma promised to rid the film of the rabidly anti-Pakistani dialogues.

**“I won’t mouth a single line against Pakistan,” an uncharacteristic Akshay said from Toronto. :dhimpak: “I told Sharma to clean out the anti-Pakistani dialogues or else I’d quit,” he said. **

Reacting to Sharma’s claims that Akshay never had any problems with the India-Pakistan war film that’s currently shooting with Amitabh Bachchan and Bobby Deol in the lead…

Akshay laughed the filmmaker’s bluff and said: “No, that isn’t true. I did have a problem with the script’s rabid dialogues. I winced when I read some of the strong words used for our neighbours. I volunteered to leave the film, and in fact did so.” :dhimpak: “But Anil, who’s a friend, promised to clean out objectionable dialogues. Only then did I agree to be in the film. I think I’ll ask for a clause in my contract stating I won’t make abusive remarks about Pakistan,” asserts Akshay.

** “Terrorists must not be equated with civilians. Let’s all condemn terrorism. But please, let’s not look at all Pakistanis with hostility suspicious and hatred.” “We in Bollywood have so many fans from across the border. We cannot disregard their feelings just for a few cheap thrills on screen. I don’t think being a patriotic Indian means we should abuse another nation,” Akshay said. **

**“At a time when we’re trying to build bridges between the two countries, when bus services have been resumed and baby Noor’s heart was mended by Indian doctors, why can’t we speak a language of love in our movies?” ** :k:

** Akshay is quite sure he doesn’t want to be part of the Gadar kind of cinema. “That may have suited the Indian audiences’ mood two years ago. Today I don’t think any right-minded Indian would want to applaud the language of violence, no matter who it’s directed at.” **

WAT A GR8 BLOKE THE MAN MAKES ME BELIEVE IN HIM MORE AND MORE… AKSHAY KUMAR ZINDABAD

wow cool :k:

At least someone in Bollywood has the balls to stand up against all anti-Pakistan rhetoric coming out from those producers.

 :k:

Well Done Akshay Kumar:k:

Sorry, This won't make me like him any more Why did that bawarchi aka Akshay kumar got married to Twinkle khanna at the first place....I hate him.

Wow, good for him even though I have no clue who is is.
But the only thing I really took out of the article was that the Indians are making yet another racist vehemently anti-Pakistani movie. This is seriosuly getting ridiculous. This from a supposedly enlightened secular nation.

wait a minute, some indian actor refuses to say anti-Pak lines in some anti-Pak film and it's a news on a Pakistani site??? damn, I mean who the f*** cares but it seems like you guys were desperatly waiting for it. What happend to your self respect? or have you even heard of such thing.

:k: :k:

I am in love with you.
Will you marry me? :flower1:

Indian movies are a joke and I don't watch them. But, if some Indian actor has a positive attitude towards Pakistan, then that is a good thing in my book. As long as he means what he says.

It’s about time they someone said something!

Good on ya Akshay :k:

I have met him for a brief moment by chance in a hotel abroad, and told him I am from Pakistan. He told me that he really wanted to come and see Pakistan, and wished relations between the two countries were good. This was four years ago so I do not doubt this was something he did just to gain popularity. It came from his heart.

This might steal some limelight away from Akshey, but here is a Pakistani celebrity/icon off to promote peace b/w the two countries....
Read parts in bold...

I've been invited to London in August to be part of a panel discussion
on peace prospects between pakistan and India.I'm thinking out aloud
so let me know what you guys think and try to be brief!

1) both the states and their medias should stop demonising each other.
pakistanis and Indians come from the same genetic stock *but we let
superstition, religion and politics prevent us from progressing. *

2)TO USE MUSIC AND FILMS TO HELP BUILD TRUST BETWEEN PEOPLE.For 50 years the state has tried to limit exposure of each other's pop culture and it has failed miserably!pakistanis watch indian movies and Indians listen to pakistani music ( by the way Omar sharif's theatre plays are a huge hit in India's pirate video markets)so if we can tolerate each other's music, drama and humour why can't we use cultural expression to create greater understanding of each other?
we're so wound up by history we've forgotten to live in the present and are totally blind about the future.japan and america found a way to peace after pearl harbour and hiroshima.germany made peace with the world after world war 2 and both japan and Germany are leading economic powers today.

3)we need to humanise each other.stop looking at each other as hindus/muslims/sikhs/christiansa but as people first.
rameez raja and ravi shastri get along great at india/pak matches,
both love their country yet they can put political/religious differences aside and share their common love for a game.I have the deepest respect for so many of India's singers and composers.I've been introduced to so many of their legends and person to person they are just like you and me,HUMAN.In fact one of the biggest junoonis I know is Sayonee from new Delhi who has been our biggest indian friend from way before Sayonee became a hit in India.

4)if indian and pakistani students can share the same dorms in western universities why can't pakistani/indian students get visas to visit each other's countries?

5)the common enemy for india and pakistan is religious extremism.*These lethal minority of thugs have hijacked the debate on peace. How can there be cooperation to minimize the spread of religious hatred. *

6)the entire world is eyeing the subcontinental market. Are we going to be blinded again by bigotry, hate and fanaticism and give up on all the potential profits to the ferangis (yet again!)

8)what about doing something about copyright piracy. There are writers',poets, filmmakers, composers who can't afford to make the arts a lifelong pursuit while it's the blood of the artist which brings hearts together...

Good luck Salman! Here is what a new friend of mine (asif_k hope you dont mind, ive posted ur comments) thinks about Salmans views(believe me, me and asif_k werent friends at first, and I believe if us two can become friends, any Indian/Pakistani can, and I must say Junoon/Bollywood icons helped us become friend).

It's really nice to see people like Salman Ahmad speaking up. India/Pak have many common enemies such as poverty, illitracy, religious extremism and corruption and many other ills of our society. For us it's more important to educate our people and provide them a decent living. Instead of spending Billions of dollars on military and Army we should use them on developing our Land and helping other poor countries of the world.

If you can pass this mesg to Salman - then please tell him we in India have nothing but love for him and lot of respect and regard for his efforts. May god bless him, you, me, our people and may god bless both our countries.

Insha Allah ek din jaroor aayega jab ye dono mulq fir se dost ban jaayenge

Take Care and Peace. Asif K.

Another thing I also want to emphasize, that Salman mentioned in point 6. Its true that the world is eyeing the subcontinent, and India in particular. The best jobs in countries such as the US are going to India these days. We, Pakistan should also join hands with India in this educational/technological venture they are embarking upon, as we will benefit a great deal from it.

Mister Khan…such a trust filled statement coming from you really put a smile on my face.

Spock - That was a great post :k:

thumbs up for Akhshay! :k: :k:

Yet another try to make Pakisnais watch his flop movies.

yup - and that @ssole Javaid Jaffrey once used the words Pakistani Kuttay for the pak army jawans - in a TV show during the Kargil war

But I agree it is not wise to categorize the masses on this basis - a Dominant Majority of the ppl in India ( and Pakistan ) dont give a damn about this Bulls**t

Where I am employed , almost 60% of the workforce is indian , about 20 % pakistani and the rest is arab - and we all share our joys, sorrows happiness and our families also get together quite often.
