My naani ki maan was Jewish, but converted to Christianity, but according to Jewish law, if your mother is Jewish then you are Jewish, regardless of whether you are raised Jewish or not. So that makes me Jewish. My Pakistani husband was a Syed. So if we’d had kids, they would 've been Jewish Syeds… or Syed Jews…
