He has technique-
He has the temprament-
He can bat time-
Has got a reasonable record-
Last time he played in England, he showed a little weakness against short pitch deliveries. That he might’ve overcome already. Short-stuff is no issue on paki wickets anyway!
Why not try him as an opener. He has batted at 3, so why not open?
About 4 years abck when Pakistan U-19 visted Australia, Allan Border termed Hasan Raza, along with Abdur Razzaq as TWO of the MOST TALENTED in Pakistan.
Now as we see Razzaq making huge mark on International Cricket, Raza is nowhere to be seen.
Many believe he was thrown into the deep end too early (as a 14 year old!). But i think Pakistan is lot better off by sticking someone like Raza, or Iqbal then players like Omar or Farhat.
I think Raza and Iqbal with their good temprament and solid tehcnique complement well with Pakistani aggresive middle order.
I repeat myself again. We need player who can hold an end, who can bat for a day, who can leave the balls out-side off stumps. And Raza and Iqbal are the two of the best we have.

Faisal Iqbal is ordinary just like all the other Pakistani batsman, what I like about him is his confidence, very professional, he only played 1 good inning out of 6 innings, so I don't think he should be prasied that much.

Umair is right.....if you play 1 good inning out of 6.....youo really shouldn't be praised too much...but its true..he is one of the better players on the Pakistani team right now....but he still needs practise...
why don't we just keep our old batting lineup...till WC...after that we can do experiments...
I am sure w/ Youhana, Saeed, Inzy and Afridi in batting lineup...we can thrash any bowling side...
I am against any new Batsman..including Moin till WC....just kick out Waqar Yunis...we will be fine...

well he played two good innings in first test, failed in seond test alright, But got a rough decision in first innings and got run out in the second innings.....
He is going to improve from here insha'allah and he should be praised just for the way he showed guts to dominate a good bowling attack..
