I don't know about that other thread specifically, but here is an elaboration of my personal views on your posts,. You can disagree.
I think both you and psyah make some excellent points. Both of you usually ground your posts in your interpretation of what Islam says and how it should be applied. Nothing wrong with it. So its not what you say that rubs ppl the wrong way, more often than not, its how you say it that just knocks people off.
When you start off your post by saying "I feel sorry for you", then even the most beautiful point you are making is now lost in your perceived arrogance. Humility and humbleness together with friendliness goes a long way. Plus it always helps to admit if one is wrong.
Lastly, please note that in Islam, evem the most learned scholars have disagreed with each other on many things. So there is really no one answer to any issue. A lot of times, you just have to give your opinion and move on. There is really no point in being stubborn about it. Keep believing what you believe in and accord others the same courtesy.
