some years back i had heard about this ngo Ansar Burney welfare trust and i thought they were doing a superb job of tracking down lost relatives of the subcontinent esp of the divided families of the the partition era
can some one please tell me if this org is still functioning and if there is any similar pakistani ngo doing same work?

i think it is; they seem to have a functioning website http://www.ansarburney.org A few years ago my Ammi had tried to find out about one of her relatives, through them. Dunno how they are now, but back then they were extremely helpful in every possible way.
