Why not refrundium, with three choices 1-Remain in same status only mioner changes in FCR 2-to be merged in NWFP and 3-to become a seperate provience
On paper this is a good idea. In "normal" circumstances this would have worked.
However the Pak nation should step in and break the shackles of entrenched mafiosos in FATA. This ugly mafia has turned a beautiful place into the haven for drug smuggling, illegal weapon bazars, and ransom-kidnapping place that is devoid of regular court system, a police system, and a modern bureaucracy.
That means option #1 should not even be considered. FCR is inhuman, treatment of FATA people. It should be dumped as soon as possible.
The other two options are valid.
However FATA has by its actions proven for the last 60 years that they do not want to be ruled by Peshawar government.
Thus the only choice left is to convert FATA into one/two separate provinces. But it has be done by Pakistanis.
The mafia in FATA is so strong that it will never "willingly" allow a change in the status quo.
